Re: Xbox One
Eurogamer's review said that, on average, you get around 110,000 credits per racing series, which takes about 1 hour to complete. The aforementioned Lotus F1 car costs 6 million credits, so it would take about 55 hours to unlock it normally. If you want something else, you have to grind for it as well and most of the better cars cost over 1 million credits. This probably gets very tedious with the very limited amount of tracks included in the game.
So it's basically just like a free to play game on your phone. They screwed with the progression rates and slowed it down so much that people would be willing to spend money to save time and get the cars that they want right away.Last edited by Trapper700; 11-21-2013, 03:18 PM.Comment

Re: Xbox One
I can get one if I head over to GameStop right now. There is no line and I can pay for it at 6pm and pick up at midnight. Hmmmm
The problem I'm gonna have is I only have time for 1 system. I wish I could have demo'd the Xbone.

Re: Xbox One
I believe that you can get most cars in the game by playing the game normally, outside of the car packs and DLC stuff. These cars are what you would be using for both online and offline play. There's no way to test drive cars before purchasing and you don't get any cars for free anymore via leveling up. There's also no auction house or way to sell your unwanted cars for credits. The main issue is the time it would take to be able to buy the cars that you want.

Re: Xbox One
I don't really have a problem with micro transactions unless they are required in order to finish a game. I cant fault them for being capitalists. The healthier the industry is, the better games they will make.
I wont use any of the microtransactions in Forza (and its not required). I find grinding for a car more satisfying. However, I will buy every bit of DLC that they put out. Im a big fan of DLCs. Its allows them to add things to the games that they didn't have time to add in before the development deadline. Yes, I know that they hold some things back too, but it takes a lot of time to create these cars and tracks.
If the gaming companies can make some money off of DLC, then they will make more DLC and better DLC. They aren't going to make DLC if they cant make money off of it.Last edited by ZB9; 11-21-2013, 03:47 PM.Comment

Re: Xbox One
I just called UPS and had them hold my One at their shipping facility so I can pick it up anytime instead of waiting for them to deliver it. Only problem is I work until 6 with only a one hour break in between so I'll have time to pick it up, bring it home then go back to work for 4 hours while I die a bit inside.Follow me for live wrestling tweets @molarmiteComment

Wow, Ryse reviews are all over the place. A pretty glowing review from Kotaku and then a 4/10 from GameSpot. The trailers look fantastic. Ryse and Forza were the 2 One games I was sad to be missing by going PS4. Both appear to be so-so, just like the PS4 exclusives Killzone (which I have) and Knack. Good thing for some terrific 3rd party games out there, too.
Really want to hear what you guys think of Ryse and Forza once you have spent some time with them.NCAA: Michigan Wolverines

Re: Xbox One
sadly we have no midnight release in Quebec
ill be grabbing my system tomorrow with my games. ill also be grabbing forza 5 , nba 2k14 , cod ghosts and fifa 14.
iirc forza 4 had the same pay0ut system for winning races and series? they also had multi million dollar cars like those old Ferraris? and I also believe you can do quick races with rental cars? I was watching a stream on twitch and the guy was using rental cars you just don't gain any credits or tokens with them.
I cant wait for tomorrow. I feel like a little kid again.Comment

Re: Xbox One
I got a text message lsat night from them telling my my XB1 Pre-order can be picked up at 12:01AM Friday, and to come in at 6PM today (Thursday) to finalize my purchase.
If I'm planning on just getting my system tomorrow morning out of fear of getting mugged at midnight, do I need to go 6PM today to finalize my purchase? Am I ok just going tomorrow and not bothering with today's midnight stuff? I've never done a midnight release.Comment

Re: Xbox One
For my PS4 I have:
NBA 2K14
ACIV
FIFA 14
Killzone
Madden 25 (rental)
Of those, I am thoroughly impressed with 2K14, AC and FIFA. Madden is better than I expected and better than CG. I would recommend any of those 4 games to One owners if you like the genres. 2K is the best, IMO. I am not a big fan of the NBA, but 2K is a next-gen syst seller, IMO.
Hope you guys have a good, fun and safe launch. Happy gaming!NCAA: Michigan Wolverines
