If I am reading the thread correctly, the most outraged and outspoken person is the one that isn't actually outraged - mereley making that side of the argument... just like whe brief discussion about the Titanfall bundle?

It's the price you pay for being an early adopter. As someone who's a frequent early adopter of electronics I've come to accept that deals will come later down the road.

Really liking the new update. I was especially looking forward to the optical sound update (Dolby Digital) since I own a pair of Astro headsets. I also like the twitch update. I don't have too many friends on Live at the moment (mainly a PS3/PS4 gamer) but will look to try to add some people from OS on live in the near future. The one thing I like about the Xbox is that it tends to do a great job at "evolving" the system through updates.

Are you also awaiting the Stereo Headset adapter Friday for voice chat? Looks like that is my only option (I own A50's)

It's risk/reward. When you buy launch window you do so knowing there's going to be bundles, price drops, newer SKUs down the line. The reward is you get a period of "timed exclusivity" before the hardware becomes more widespread.

So it's gotten to a point where you think gamer's should get a pat on the back and something free for being a gamer?

If someone is unhappy with their purchase and wants to whine about other people getting incentives to purchase something they haven't yet, maybe they should think before dropping money on a system that they're clearly unhappy with. If they were happy with it, no future sales/promotions/incentives for other people would matter in the least to them - they'd actually be happy that more people get to play the system leading to a healthier life for it.

The sense of entitlement around here (and the internet in general) can be so ****ing ridiculous sometimes.

I agree....the entitlement is crazy. When you buy it earlier on, you don't get deals. I don't know what people expect. When you're an early adopter you pay to get stuff right away. Don't expect companies to throw free stuff at you later all the time.

If you can't afford the system then wait to get it for a deal.

I'm patiently awaiting the adapter, I have the TB PX 5's. I do find it a little ridiculous that the adapter is $30 though.

I wasn't an early adopter. I don't want my money back and I didn't say they should give money back. I said they should recognize their early adopters in some way.

How would you like to be recognized, though? And why do you feel the need to be recognized for buying a product? Any form of recognition including putting out a simple title card that says "Thanks" will cost MS money. This isn't a "reward" its a marketing strategy aimed to grow the install base faster than it currently has been growing.

For being a customer. A paying customer. Changing your title from consumer to gamer doesn't make it any less serious. How do you want to treat your customers? You can do nothing and stay the same, or you can go the extra mile.

It has nothing to do with not liking the device. I'm sure there are many people on here that are disappointed that they got their console 2-3 months too early, but they won't say anything because they don't want to bother with it or they don't want to be accused of being entitled. It has nothing to do with being entitled. If we were talking about a bundle a year or so after the release, then yes, I would agree with you. But I don't. We're talking two months in some cases. That's it.

What are they going the extra mile for? And why? They marketed and released a product. The product undersold comparatively to competition and forecast. Now they've started a different marketing strategy that includes incentives. The incentives are to attract more customers. That's it. You want them to dip back into their pocket to say, "We appreciate the support. Here's a free game while we slide further into debt, but your purchase really helped."

I have astros as well. I really felt the surround sound feel when play forza in 3rd person mode and could tell exactly where the car behind me was.

Yeah. Im probably going to pick it up. Not much of an online gamer myself but will pick up an adapter for my son and use it when he isnt using it.

I'm probably getting the adapter at some point. With the PX5 (which I have as well) will it just pass the chat audio through the cable to the headset (like the 360 adapter it came with did) or does that pass game audio too?

I guess I could still set it up to get the Optical out from the system to the transmitter box, just wasn't sure whether or not this was necessary.

I'll probably also get an adapter for my Razer headset to turn its mic and headset jacks into one 3.5 mm jack that would work for in game and chat audio (as far as I understand)....

No clue, but just random guessing here: Do you have to associate a twitch account to the app? I don't have the app yet, so just my developer mindset trying to come up with possible issues.

Will Twitch allow you to broadcast your voice as well, like doing a let's play or something? That could be kinda cool for my single player playing, since it's archived....hmmmm

Yes the way I understand it, it should only be passing through the chat sound. Essentially the adapter is just providing the 3.5 mm jack to plug your chat cable into like the 360 controller had.

Does anyone have any of those free 7 day trials of Live that comes with the games that they can PM me? My brother wants to make a account but doesnt have the funds to get xbox live at this moment.
