Re: Xbox One
What makes me laugh is the system was worth $500 to you whenever you purchased it, but now that it comes out with something included, you feel entitled to get that free thing as well and you were ripped off.
Not saying anyone on here like that, just overall what I'm seeing.Comment

Re: Xbox One
For the record, if having access to Killer Instinct is love, I don't want to see the hate. Lol.
Maybe if this was `98 when fighting games were vogue, but not now my dude.
I don't have a problem with the lack of perks for early adopters. I was able to enjoy my games for months before anyone had it, so I'm cool with that.

Re: Xbox One
People that complain about the system, despite having it on day one, do worse for a systems image than any non-detracting owners.
You should be happy MS is trying to get the system more of a foothold.
They could release a PS4 bundle that includes every released game for $199.99 and I'd be happy with my purchase of it.
There have been so many sour grapes about both the Titanfall bundle and the Forza 5 announcement it's a joke.
I'm happy that MS is doing what they can to get more Xbox Ones into customer's hands. It is a really good console and having more gamers to play with, especially from the OS community, will be great.XBL: Mean Greene

Re: Xbox One
Really liking the new update. I was especially looking forward to the optical sound update (Dolby Digital) since I own a pair of Astro headsets. I also like the twitch update. I don't have too many friends on Live at the moment (mainly a PS3/PS4 gamer) but will look to try to add some people from OS on live in the near future. The one thing I like about the Xbox is that it tends to do a great job at "evolving" the system through updates.PSN: ckarlic

Re: Xbox One
I can understand some of the frustration with not getting a game with the launch but this isn't knee jerk marketing by MS. What is sometimes annoying is how people speculate about a billion dollar company and come up with odd conclusions. These things are planned out over multiple meetings and planning. The Xbox One got hit hard by some realistic concerns but it also got some slack, being called a flop way too early.
The Xbox team always said it's a marathon. Things will just keep rolling out. The 360 is proof of that.Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment

Bundles happen, discounts happen, early adopters... Yeah, yeah, I get it. Three months. It has been three months. Most stores have a price match policy for a month so that means we could be talking about two months for some people. This has never happened for a gaming console like the Xbox One. When you buy a console at launch, or shortly after, you know that it will eventually be cheaper and you also know that it will one day come with a game. You don't expect that day to be three months from the launch. Honestly, in October, did anyone see this coming? I was thinking we would see something like this during the 2014 Holiday Season at the earliest. Even the Wii U is finally getting discounts and bundles.
Let me be clear: Microsoft doesn't need to give early adopters anything. With that said, I think they should give them something, even if it's not a full game. The early adopters are Microsoft's faithful. The customers that stuck with Microsoft and pre-ordered or purchased the console early.
I look at it from a different perspective. Owning a product that is readily available isn't a privilege. The customers weren't the ones lucky enough to play the console three months before other people. The system was available everywhere. In fact, you probably almost ran into a sign in a store telling you that the system was in stock. You only needed money. On the flip side, Microsoft was lucky enough to have them as customers before they started giving away free stuff. They didn't need free stuff in order to buy the console. They bought into the Xbox One early and didn't need any convincing. It's not a $60 game. It's not a phone that you're going to get rid of in a year. It's not like anything else that drops in price quickly. Consoles last a long time compared to other pieces of technology. Their price doesn't drop within the first year and that is usually a safe bet.
It's nice that they're trying to build up the platform, but that's not our problem. Sure, it would be nice against more players and have more games, but ultimately, that's not our concern. We've done our part. Microsoft is going to benefit from that the most. If they had made the product more attractive from the beginning, this wouldn't be an issue. Instead, they're stuck making adjustments on-the-fly. They're smart moves, but sometimes these moves come at a significant cost.
I don't fault Day One owners at all. While I don't think this will change the ways of many early adopters, I think you'll see more people, especially the 2013 holiday buyers, giving it some thought next time Microsoft launches a new console. They should follow in the path of Apple, Nintendo and TMobile and recognize their early adopters, but that seems unlikely at this point.Last edited by sbauer318; 03-06-2014, 12:43 PM.Comment

Re: Xbox One
If someone is unhappy with their purchase and wants to whine about other people getting incentives to purchase something they haven't yet, maybe they should think before dropping money on a system that they're clearly unhappy with. If they were happy with it, no future sales/promotions/incentives for other people would matter in the least to them - they'd actually be happy that more people get to play the system leading to a healthier life for it.
The sense of entitlement around here (and the internet in general) can be so ****ing ridiculous sometimes.badComment

Re: Xbox One
So it's gotten to a point where you think gamer's should get a pat on the back and something free for being a gamer?

It has nothing to do with not liking the device. I'm sure there are many people on here that are disappointed that they got their console 2-3 months too early, but they won't say anything because they don't want to bother with it or they don't want to be accused of being entitled. It has nothing to do with being entitled. If we were talking about a bundle a year or so after the release, then yes, I would agree with you. But I don't. We're talking two months in some cases. That's it.Comment
