It's crazy...my One won't recognize Madden after some update this week. It was fine, disc in system working until I tried Friday and wouldn't recognize the disc....

Anyone see this? Have to call support anyways for my Kinect but this is crazy

Not sure if we had the same issue or not, but last night I put Madden15 in for the first time in a week or more and it kept freezing on load up. Just froze at "checking memory device" or whatever it says. I did a hard reboot and it solved my problem. Sounds like you're having a different issue though, maybe give it a try though just in case.

Had this happen to me. Deleted the bluray app and reinstalled and it works fine now.

Strange. I'd still give the hard reboot a try just to be safe if you haven't already. Might save you some time.

Any issues I've had I simply unplug it, and it always seems to solve the problem.

Separate issue here guys... I bought my XB1 in June, I bought the kinectless version. Presently looking at buying the kinect from ebay or something similar to add it on.

Is it worth it from a gaming point of view? I don't run my TV through it, so I don't really care there, I don't care much about voice commands either, but are there some cool games for it that use the kinect? How's the fitness stuff with kinect? Basically, is it worth it?

I'd say it is iffy. Forizon 2 utilizes it really well. Simply saying "Anna, next event" instantly gets you a path. "Record that" is essential in all of my sports games.

Xbox Fitness is great, if you use it. for me, it is like a gym membership or new piece of exercise equipment. Just having it doesn't help, and it is easy to blow off workouts. It is million times easier to blow off a work when you are staring at a game console in which many of your friends are online playing games. As an app, Xbox Fitness will provide great workouts.

But I never use motion controls on the console. I use voice controls quite a bit. It's great to launch Youtube, apps, and games. It's really good to snap Machinima while playing a game, as it will load up walkthroughs to help you with the section you are in.

But with the October Update, which is not out yet, they are streamlining some of these actions so using the controller is just as easy. That will leave the voice control still being best utilized while watching TV and streamed media.

My wife would not want to give up the Kinect. We've been watching Game of Thrones on HBO Go via the 360, and she HATES that we can't use voice commands. I had the Kinect 1.0, but I really didn't want two cameras on my TV. But she asks about when HBO Go is coming to the XB1 fairly often.

Gaming wise, I'd say it's not worth it. Personally, I love the Kinect for the utility functions (voice commands, biometric sign-in, IR blasting, Skype, etc.) and I don't mind that it's not used very much for gaming.

That's your opinion, the scare factor you use in dead rising 3 is great, the way you use it in FH2, and Ryse is nice...The play calling in Madden is pretty nice as well....using it in games is a very nice touch.

Kinect Sports adventures body and face mapping, same with NBA 2K15..I think that's worth it.

Recording highlights on the fly, is a nice touch for gaming.

Pretty cringe-worthy, but this live action trailer has me wanting Fantasia more than not wanting it. This will likely be THE be the big Kinect game if one could be called that. Not sure there's really much else to report about otherwise.

Can someone please explain to me what 'Fantasia' is? I'm sure its along the lines of Rock Band, DJ Hero, and Rock Band..

That video has the most footage I've ever seen of it. It's a music-based game. Not sure if they're taking the Rock Band path with DLC and stuff or what. You can see all the hand motions and stuff in the video.

It doesnt have to stay snapped. But to start or end a clip, yeah you have to snap it.

If you are going to be doing this over a long period of time, you may want to invest in a hd-pvr or something similar.

Damn that sucks. On ps4 you can record extended periods of time. I hope it's updated in the future.

As for the pvr, anyone know of any cheap ones?

I've been using the snap feature a lot more than I thought I would. The new snap interface makes it a lot easier to use. I've been watching/listening to the playoff games while playing forza horizon 2. Just awesome. Haven't missed anything.

I really wish they would improve Deals with Gold. It's really a terrible effort. Other consoles have better deals for all members, not just premium members. The one deal that we got for this month, while OK, is better on a different system. That system also has deals on six other games (also available to every member).

Deals with Gold just feels too lazy for a premium membership benefit.
