Cool, we'll get to try it out. MS Partnered with DISH to get a 1 month trial to SlingTV for Xbox One users.

The AV overlays from my denon aren't dimmed so it's definitely the Xbox One. Turning the TV and the DVR off individually do nothing, but turning the Xbox One off and then on fixes it reliably.
I had that issue once. A hard reset, holding the Xbox button for 10 seconds, until it shuts down, and then restarting fixed it. It never came back.

        Good luck!

It's definitely tempting, and I'd be all over it if it had AMC. I need live AMC. I may see about going back to aux-tv with my cable company to keep AMC since we don't get HD AMC anyways.

My locals, ESPN, Cartoon Network and AMC are really the only channels I watch on a consistent basis.

Man , Microsoft really dropped the ball when they designed the Xbox one. Look at all the back tracking they are doing now. So if the Devs bypass the voice command and kinect they can access more power. It's a shame, I loved my Xbox 360's, but when I did my research on the one I had to pass.

Maybe MS will release an Xbox one gaming only system next.

Not really sure how that's a negative, and the 'gaming only' argument is beyond old and silly when for the last page we've been talking about IPTV on BOTH consoles, lol.

Hopefully not. I get so much more use out of my console since it is so good at doing other things. Wife loves it too. I see no issue with the gaming side of things and on the media side the one is great.

My gaming only comment was sarcasm/ humor because since launch MS has done so much backtracking, to try and compete with the other console. So I was making an attempt at a joke. My point here is MS is now going to allow the Devs more CPU power , but in order to do so they will have to leave out two of the features that most Xbox one users love. Those being voice command and the kinect. If I had bought the one for those features and now there is a possibility they might be left out of games , I might be a bit bummed.

I have no doubt the one is an excellent console. I also have no doubts the media, voice control, and everything else it does is great, it's just not for me. The voice control on the PS4 works great, but I don't use it.

Continuing to optimize the console and give the devs more resources is backtracking ?
It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.

Except all those things still work. What devs are giving up are custom game-specific voice commands that previously had resources dedicated to it at all times even if the game did not need it. With the unit primarily no longer being sold with the kinect this isn't an issue for most, so no need to be hypothetically bummed.

...and if developers still want custom game-specific voice commands... that capability is still there.

Right. It's a win/win. The power is there for whatever they choose to use it for. If the game is not going to use voice commands there is no reason that power should go to waste.
