Sales only matter to MS in the U.S

If they overtake the PS4 in the U.S and it will in my opinion by the start of 2016 then they will throw a party.

Sony sells in many more countries and is a brand that has been iconic for a long time. People all over the world know playstation.

MS won in the U.S last gen and I think they will win again in the U.S this time around.

PS4 will win overall for sure just like last time as they overtook MS world wide.

But MS knows it cannot appeal to the whole world like PS4 but the biggest market is the U.S and they will win that IMO

The sales numbers aren't painting a doom and gloom picture, which seems to be what is trying to be done here...both consoles have outsold previous gen in their first year by a lot and I think both companies are happy with that. No one is pulling support or not developing for the Xbox One because PS4 has 18million worldwide sales and the One only has 10million. Having a temporary price drop around the holiday isn't bad either and isn't a sign of desperation, as both companies did it but in different ways (price drop, bundles, gift card offers, etc). Changing your offerings and adapting to what the consumers like happens all the time in the infancy of a product or service...they took out the Kinect and gave people a choice; since when is choice a bad thing? I'm not really sure why anyone should be concerned with the global console sales at this point other than to gloat.

So the $50 price cut because of the lower than ps4 sales didn't affect consumers? Or how about the unbundling of the Kinect? I suppose that didn't affect consumers either?



Get real man, any knowledgeable consumer should most definitely be aware of sales in the industry.

I don't think you are reading my posts careful enough. How does the 50 dollar price cut affect someone who already owns the console?

Is there a better way to take snapshots and better quality videos on the Xbox One? When I use upload studio or watch the replay THe quality is awful.

Is it possibly a connection issue during playback? My clips record at pretty much the same quality as the game plays. I can't tell much of a difference anyways.

I was the one inquiring as to why people make choices yes. Don't try to paint me as some fanboy, I own two Xbox Ones and have been an Xbox Live member since it was beta.



As for reasons why people should be aware of sales, I've given them multiple times and they've been ignored. There is more to sales and the discussion than just someone wanting to gloat about one system is better than the other.



The very fact some of you are so sensitive to, and don't want to discuss sales though speaks volumes I think about who has some sort of sensitivity about their system preference. Grow a bit thicker skin I'd recommend

You keep quoting posts by me saying that people who own consoles don't need to care about sales unless the console they own is selling horribly. You keep saying that consumers need to care because of price drops. We get your reasons. They just don't apply to people that already own the things. That's why they are being ignored. So before you tell people to get thicker skin you should try to read things more carefully.

Overall, PS4 is winning by over 7m but except for Europe, it's extremely close. Must admit that I didn't think the gap in NA was that close. Microsoft should probably just release their next console in NA only as they would probably be better off. LOL.

Either way, none of the millions of dollars is going in my pocket. Regardless of them being third party games or exclusives (console, timed or full) all I truly care about is good to excellent to great to classic games.

Still looking to buy an Xbox One but there's still only one game that I care about thus far which was a launch title - Ryse. Had interest in Ori but that light/arrow or whatever it is thing turned me off to the game which is a shame because the game looks great. PS4 finally has exclusives coming out that I care about in The Order: 1886 and Bloodborne.

Later this year will be when the fun really starts when Quantum Break, Halo 5 and timed exclusive Rise of the Tomb Raider get released opposite Uncharted 4. Out of these four games, Halo 5 is the only one that I have no interest in.

Either way, in the end, all three consoles have their positives and negatives. As for which one is the best option to buy - that's all based on the consumer. For me, it was PS4 but I still plan on owning all three before 2015 ends so in a way, as long as good or better games come out, I could care less who wins.

It has nothing to do with having thick skin. Trust me Odogg, if you knew what I do for a living as a career you'd know I have a lot of thick skin. The reasons why sales isn't something I'm concerned about is because like said before by me and others here, both consoles are doing well. Look, we all know McDonald's has sold more burgers than anyone in the world and we all know they don't make the best burgers. And, with that I'm not saying the ps4 isn't better or worse, what I'm saying is that sales doesn't always mean everything. The ps4 has sold a lot more because they sell more than Xbox outside of the US always, and the ps4 having the stronger hardware helps too. If the Xbox was barely moving any units and doing poorly then you have a legitimate reason to worry and talk sales, but that's not the case here. Also, about MS lowering the price of their console for the holidays, what's wrong with that? That's actually a smart business move since they're behind in sales and MS is in a better position financially than Sony so they can do that. So, now that we know that both consoles are selling well and are doing better than their previous gen consoles when compared, what's the point of talking sales if not to boast and gloat about how much more the ps4 has sold in the Xbox forum?

I find it hilarious this topic is still being argued over. Let me just say, none of you guys are outside sales reps for MS, you are not getting commission. So play any console you want even a non-selling Sega Saturn, but let the MS sales reps worry about their sale numbers, not Joe-blow-gamer over the internet.

The sales on the XB1 aren't anywhere close to being bad enough to lose support from developers or publishers. Especially not at this point where Microsoft has turned things around. If you're a developer making a game, and you aren't a first party studio, you'd be insane to only release your title on one platform. Thats just bad business. The only reason you wouldn't is if Microsoft or Sony paid you enough to cover lost sales.
