Re: Xbox One
I made the plunge yesterday and picked up an XBox One, 1TB + Halo on a Gamestop trade in offer ($150 credit with a trade in of a X360 w/250GB HDD). Didn't pick up any games just yet so instead I opted for EA Access (Titanfall, FIFA, NHL, etc.). I think I may pickup Batman.
I gotta say, I love the interface, it's so much more faster and smoother. Jumping from one program to the next is a breeze! The fact that I can run Netflix, cable, games, music, all from one place is fantastic. I'm still trying to figure some things out: shutting it down (does it still continue to download files?), how does one end a game, can I have 2+ games running at once, etc. Graphics are a pretty big upgrade but not as massive of a leap as it was from the Xbox to the 360. I found myself intrigued more with Twitch and watching other play-throughs of games, it's so much more intuitive to see a game in motion, with real gameplay then demos or stills.
I think the overall biggest downside is the uploading of files, which takes forever. It took me about 2 hours of downloads, updates, etc. before I could even start playing a game. I'm also seeing that 1TB of space isn't going to last very long, which is troubling. At what point are developers going to be asked to limit game install space because this could get out of hand and fast.
To those who have a Kinect. What are your thoughts on it? Most people I ask say they liked it at first, then after some time never really used it again. I eventually want to get one just for the voice controls (the wife literally loses every remote control in the house), plus I want to try some of the fitness and dance games.

Re: Xbox One
Does anyone use the Energizer charging kit instead of the Play and Charge? I'm thinking about swapping for it because it comes with two batteries instead of just one, but I wanted to make sure there no major disadvantages.Kansas City Royals | FC Barcelona | New Orleans Pelicans

Re: Xbox One
So far so good...
I was a fan of both consoles last gen, so I knew I couldn't go too much longer with just the PS4. I mainly liked the 360 because I always enjoyed split screen/couch co-op games like Halo/Gears and I liked sports games on it more (mainly because of the controller and most of my friends where on 360).
That's why the two things that drove me to getting the XB1 were the MCC and EA Access (although I haven't DL'ed it yet). I played some MCC this weekend and ran through a couple of chapters with my wife. It was great time as usual. Other than that I got the Arkham Night and it's as been amazing in the short time I've played. I don't think there's that much difference graphically between the consoles, but my only complain so far as been the install time. I plan on getting EA Access soon... I'll mainly be playing Halo and BM:AK for the next few weeks, so there's no sense it getting it now. I am anxious to play some sports games on it though.
Lastly, I didn't get a Kinect initially because I thought I would never use it, but I kind of feel like I'm not getting the full XB1 experience right now, so I'm going to get one soon. I talked my wife into letting me put it in the living room, so I'll get more use out of the TV controls than if it were in my man-cave. Plus, she still plays the Wii for Dance/Workout games, so I'll have to pick some games up for her, as well.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

I use it. It's great. The cradle right? Have it for both consoles.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Yeah, its the only thing that made me bitter about the non-removable dual shock 4 batteries... they have to be plugged into the charger, while the Xbox One controller just rests in the cradle to charge. Had energizer docks last gen too.Comment

Check out Forxa 5, or Forza Horizon 2, I think you'll see the graphics upgrade more significantly with those titles over the EA Sports games. Madden made a big jump IMO. Battlefield looks great too IMO.
As for storage, I wouldn't be too concerned. With the XB1 you can just go to Best buy (or wherever) and pick yourself up a 4TB USB hard drive and plug it in to one of the USB ports, and you're good to go.Miami Dolphins - Detroit Red Wings - Toronto Blue Jays - Michigan Wolverines - CANADAComment
