    Re: Xbox One

Was just playing Powerstar golf and ordered $5.99 course pack. Said "Something went wrong try again". Did it again and got the same message. So I just gave up. However, I just got emailed two order confirmations

Question is how does XBox usually handle this? Refund or what?

Those that own both ps4 and Xbox One or have played extensively on both at one point: do you actually NOTICE a difference when playing cross-platform games? I've always read but never cared when people would compare framerate or resolution (because I've always had ps4). But when you are actually playing the game, is it noticeable?

I understand the type of response I will get being in the X1 thread, but that's fine. I'm just looking for honest feedback. I don't want anyone make my decision for me, just looking for as much info as possible before I pull the trigger.

My biggest concern is sports games. Madden and NHL mostly. I don't expect there to be a huge difference in gameplay between the two consoles, but you do hear about performance varying. Just looking for first-hand accounts.

I'm ready for Halo, I'm ready for the controller, I've come to terms with losing my digital library /trade-off in exclusives. Thanks again for your help, all.
Regarding the third party multi-platform games, you can't go wrong either way as the difference is minimal. Just stay away from the PC versions and you'll be fine.

For sports games, what console did you play them on last gen? The only difference is that PS4 has MLB exclusively. Other than that, both are identical.

Exclusives wise, it simply comes down to who's exclusives you like and want to play more....Sony or Microsoft's? It mainly comes down to that as everything else games wise is basically identical.

On a related note, here's a question for you - what do you mean by "losing your digital library"? You technically don't lose anything. I have bought and sold Xbox 360 and PS3 several times and I was always able to re-download all the digital games that I purchased. I don't see why PS4/Xbox One would be any different. Just make sure that you deactivate your PS4 and delete all the info before getting rid of the console.

        Re: Xbox One

Owning both consoles myself I'll say that the sports games are identical. The only difference was launch madden 2 years ago when the consoles came out it looked better on the ps4, but now they all look identical to me. Ps4 has the show which I play a lot since I'm in leagues and love baseball. Xbox has Forza which I play for months when it comes out. Some multiplatform games have better resolution on the ps4, but the difference is minimal on most titles IMO. I'll say the difference isn't really enough to sway a person to pick 1 over the other. I'm like 90% online gaming so I personally prefer Xbox live over PSN, but the most important to me is which system most of your friends are on. I always buy both because I enjoy exclusives from both consoles.

Really nice to see that it just works without having to have the console strictly on a wired network connection or any other quirks (frustrations) that I experienced with PS4 remote play. Looking forward to trying it off my network soon.
I love the steaming too, when it works it works well but Ive had some issues, well actually its the same issue.
My XboxONE is wire connected located down stairs and my laptop is wireless which I use mostly upstairs in my office. Mutiple times my stream has lagged out and disconnected, I am wondering if its because of my internet speed? or something else. I only have 25Mbps down and thats probably cut in half when using wireless. Im thinking about upgrading my internet speed to see if it makes a differnce.

1 - turn the console on...i know it can be done with smartglass, but would be one less stop
2 - could register a console to your app so then you don't need to be logged into the console to be able to stream (ala ps4 remote play.) As of now the only way to do it while not in the same room is to make sure your profile auto logs in on power up.
Another upgrade I would like to suggest is being able to use your gaming controller to navigate the Xbox App.

I saw a turn on console option on the Xbox app. Didn't use it though. Does it not work? I just use smartglass to turn my One on usually.

Got- Xbox One, 1 year gold card, Titanfall, bf hardline, xp500 turtle beaches, new built-in 3.5mm controller.

EA access question. Can you play those games in the vault online? Looking to make my first purchase here already

Yep, they're full games. Even the trials are full games for the time limit (was 6 hours, Rory was 10 which I think is the new standard)

Yeah, as you'll quickly find if you have even a passing interest in a few of those titles, EA Access is a ridiculous value.

I can turn mine on and off using the xbox app no worries.

I had a chance to try out streaming my Xbox to my Windows 10 PC, and it actually exceeded my expectations. I was amazed with being able to resize the window however I wanted (made it very easy for me to set up different applications while I gamed). I especially liked being able to play music from my PC in the background while I gamed (something I missed from my 360 days). Instead of using the One's pre-determined snap sizes and rules, I can now choose which apps I want to use and what sizes they will be (Games matched with ESPN or Hulu, etc). During the actual gameplay, I did not notice any input lag as I performed different actions (in sports games or FPS). A couple times when I switched to my desktop (to make a few PC tweaks), I noticed I had to "Resume Streaming" on my PC which made the app connect again (only took 5-10 seconds). I learned to keep my PC tweaks minimal if I was playing online. All in all, I'm very impressed with my options on this app.
