The Kinect privacy concerns were always silly imo but you have people out there who worry about everything.

The problem with your plan is what's to stop me from going to redbox, renting the game, loading it, and 10 days later, when I get a prompt, repeating. Or worse, going to ganestop, buying the game used, returning it for a full refund, rinse and repeat.

If someone wants to work that hard to play a game then so be it.

Hell, I don't even want to get off my couch to get it out of the case from the entertainment center, let alone take trips and pay Red Box or do multiple purchase/returns at Gamestop. That's exhausting.

Honestly, if someone wants to go through all that, I'll shake their hand for that effort.

I was fine with used game companies having to manage it through a MS website to manage disc licenses.

IMO that would have given us discs, used games, and freedom to play on any of our systems without having the disc in...

We don't need to rehash it, and I agree that how MS did things wasn't the best way, but their ideas had some merit.

Microsoft deserves the reputation it has. As a company, we have done short-sighted things.

However, I can promise you that any sort of data uploading or sharing from Kinect was and never will happen on the Xbox One.

            1) The amount of data we'd have to upload would be staggering. It would tank network performance, gameplay, etc.
            2) It uses system resources, and we want to minimize the amount of resources Kinect uses. If we don't need to be sending power or CPU/GPU cycles to it, then we won't.
            3) There are humans in Xbox, real people with real morals and ethics. We constantly debated features, and often cut things that were possible, saying "nah, that's too creepy. You've crossed the line from cool."

Agree that anything can be hacked and stuff, just wanted to jump in the Kinect privacy concerns.

Thanks for the feedback, I know privacy is always a concern with consumers and companies. I appreciate the measures Microsoft and others have done to go the extra length to ensure data security as much as humanly possible.

Does anyone know if they plan to add this feature to the console. Seems simple Settings/Controller/ Vibration on/off The 360 had it, why not the one?

Granted, it's perhaps the stupidest and dumbest reason but this is why I sold Xbox One after a month. Couldn't turn off the vibration while playing Ryse: Son of Rome and the sad part is that I was actually enjoying the game and to depend on every game that I want to play having an in-game on/off option for the controller vibration just wasn't for me. Microsoft has been great with their monthly updates but this option is long overdue.

I love vibration, but one thing I miss from 360 is being able to set look controls to inverted by default on a system level. I was hoping they would be added with NXE, but still maybe at some point in the future. Here is a link where you can vote it be an added feature:

Sorry for double post, clicking edit doesn't allow me to edit my post for some reason.

Anyways for the vibration, there is a more permanent option:

looks about as easy as replacing a hard drive or swapping sticks on a controller. It is permanent, but you can always go in again and strip/splice them together if need be for any reason.

                        Re: Xbox One

Seems like a pretty sizable update.

                        - Friends status icons are back (in game, in party)
                        - Community tab seems to be fully functional. Doesn't appear to be missing any info.
                        - From the menu, you can highlight a friend and hit X to invite them to a party or hit Y to invite them to your game.
                        - Profile tab navigation seems to be working with LB/RB
                        - Performance seems better
                        - Controller button remapping is here

No notes yet so that's what I see so far.

Yeah, very nice. Kinect still borked though and wife's patience running out. Probably time to order another, or at least pick one up I can return if necessary.
