I haven't pulled the trigger myself, but I've never seen anyone regret the purchase. Probably about to pick one up too.

Yeah....I'm poor, but everything I see people love it if you can afford it.

I was highly skeptical because it's a ton of money for a controller but my wife got me one for my birthday and yes, I can safely say, it's definitely worth it.

Also for guys with both consoles, how do you decide which console to get the game for, if it's on both?

If you do id recommend you get extended warranty on it, not cuz I think it'll break but just to cover your bases. They're not much either

While I had both, the governing decision was who I was going to play with. My friends fractured and then got super casual w/ the onset of this generation though, so this slowly became more about access. Since my catalog of Xbox One games is just a couple of clicks away at any time from my PC this slowly led to more Xbox One usage and eventually trading in the PS4 for the One S (and now w/ the One S launch the gang is back together and have started a CFM for the first time this gen).

If I still had both consoles, exclusive content deals would be a factor (like Destiny) but otherwise which one was hooked to which TV and the above mentioned accessibility are why I ended up leaning more towards my One (now Ones) in the absence of which ones friends had being the deciding factor.

Long term, MS has a stated objective to end software resets. That and Play Anywhere have me all-in on where they're going, and I hope Sony makes similar announcements/decisions.

I think I'll probably be leaning towards XB1 due to the Elite controller and the fact my wife could watch Netflix while I play a game. I'll have both systems hooked up to the same projector, so that won't be an issue.

I do hope/think that backwards compatibility and same architecture will be key this generation and onwards....I don't think we'll get completely new stuff for devs to learn. At least not with Xbox, and I'm assuming PS4.

                            Re: Xbox One

I've had a PS4 since launch and an Xbox One since last August. The PS4 was my primary system up until about a month or so ago. Honestly, I regret waiting this long. I forgot how much the controller and Xbox Live makes my experience that much more enjoyable. I'm not going to take shots at the PS4, it's not first this generation by accident. It does alot of things very well.

But the controller, dashboard and online play are all lacking in comparison to the Xbox equivalent. I mostly play multiplatform games and it's mostly shooters online and sports games for offline Franchise modes and online Pro Clubs type modes. All of those experiences for me are better on the Xbox One.

This is not even taking into account the Elite Controller. The vanilla controller is already a beautiful device. Is the Elite worth the price? Probably not. But if you have the money to get one, you will never play video games with a better controller and it's not even close.

Anyway, just my two cents. Like I said, the PS4 is great. So is the Xbox One. They excel at different things.

Yep.. So much so I gave my daughter the Elite console with the stipulation that when I get another XBOX we're switching controllers.

Controller feels great with the weight and having the 4 paddles (I only use 2 currently) you can map to, is very nice.

Good question. For me right now it goes by what I'll be doing. Like Madden was PS4 due to the online league I'm in. Other than that it really is either/or unless I see online comparisons and see a noticeable difference.
