I don't have a TV yet, that's part of my decision making on what TV to get. I won't buy a new Xbox until Scorpio but I want 4K. I won't buy a TV until I get something that can stream 4K so unless I buy an Ultra or there's a good TV that can play it on it's own, I'm going to wait until Scorpio comes out.

Almost every 4K TV you get will be a Smart TV that can stream in 4K. So when you're choosing your TV, just read up on whether it is or isn't and that way you don't technically NEED anything else to run 4K streamed content on it.

I ended up picking up Doom and Gears 4 during the black friday sale on XBL.

Does anyone know how long it takes for them to send the codes to download Gears 1, 2 and 3?


As for the games.... I've been through the first couple missions in Doom, and it's... its alright. Pretty fast paced. It's not really gripping me in any way to make me want to keep playing it though.

Gears 4... I was never a huge fan of the series. I played parts of 1, and parts of 2, but just never got into it. But the first little bit of 4 I played, man, I was hooked. Love that it's much brighter, there's some color to it, and some personality to it. I stopped playing it tonight, and flipped over to Gears 3 since I did already download that one for free when it was in GWG I think. I've gotten through the first act tonight in GOW3, and man, I'm enjoying myself. Not sure why I didnt like it when the series first came out, maybe because I was more into Halo back then.

Anyways, main point was, how long did it take for them to send the download codes, if you remember?

It wasn't right away, I remember that. I can't remember exactly how long but I do remember one day turning my system on and being surprised the codes finally made it.

You may know this already, but get a 4k tv with HDR.

Most 4k TV's have both an Amazon and a Netflix App within their OS which will have 4k content available. You could stream in 4k without actually having to buy a new system

I bought it 11/12, got the codes 11/23.

With R6 last year it said 7-10 days to get codes for Vegas 1&2...I contacted them on like the 12th day, they said it is supposed to be 7-10 business days (computers don't work on weekends I guess ), and sure enough it came a couple days later, on the 10th business day.

I just got a $5 credit for when Madden 17 didn't work for EA Access. I'll take it, considering that I was expecting anything from them, for the mess up.

I'm curious, has anyone had issues with taking screenshots lately?

I have the option from the quick menu but when I hit Y to take a screenshot nothing happens and I don't have any saved captures. My gameclips are recording properly.

Edit: Nvm, they seem to be working now!

I still hate the way that Microsoft does screenshots and video clip sharing. Let me upload directly to Twitter. Geez. I don't want to post to twitter, a link to xbox.com. it's Way too clunky. That's the one thing preventing me from staying on the Xbox.

The whole sharing aspect is miles behind the PS4. I can't believe after all this time they still don't have voice audio in saved clips. Blows my mind.

I agree with both of these statements, it's really too bad that the sharing aspect of Xbox is still so far behind the PS4 when Microsoft has done such a great job with improving everything else.

Hopefully it's high on their list of things to work on soon or is already being worked on.

Just got my Xbox that I ordered on Cyber Monday. The UI is a big difference from the 360, that's for sure. Nice to see that I have 75 games ready to install too, but I need to pick up an external hard drive for that.

For the backwards compatible games I just have to upload the saves from my 360 to the cloud, right? Is there a way to do them all at once?

My gamertag is YYH for anyone that wants to add me. I'm pretty sure I have some of you guys already from the 360 days.
