4x more powerful but that's from microsofts mouth. So who knows.

Re: Xbox One
Even if it's just 2x or 3x more powerful, that's a lot more than the PS4 Pro was vs. PS4....
We'll have to see though, you are right...I don't trust rumor and whatnot, at E3 we should get most details. MS is setting up for a possibly awesome E3Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Xbox One
Dev kits would have to go out soon too I would think. I think I read that games were already being made. So Microsoft must already be working on some sort of launch library.Comment

PS4 Pro is actually a lot more powerful than the regular PS4. But yeah, the Scorpio should blow it away if the specs are to be believed.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Xbox One
4k: 8.2m pixels
1080p: 2m pixels
Diminishing returns w/ more power and increasing resolution means not as much as people might hope, and is why the PS4 Pro was relatively underwhelming outside of specific games and conditions. Sony is using checkerboard rendering to hit their 4k target in many circumstances, but this can result in a slightly blurry image. Anything using that technique is only rendering half of the 4k resolution and simulating the rest.
For many, the new TV was probably the bigger upgrade than the PS4 Pro. I know my One S looks great on my KS8000.
As for Scorpio exclusives, I'll believe it when I see it. A couple of the initial statements seemed to be very specific... Microsoft wouldn't publish exclusive games... meaning Halo, Forza, Minecraft, etc. To me that means developers aren't mandated to maintain console parity like what we've seen with the Pro. I expect a lot of policies like this are still being worked on though so we'll see what path they go down.
For devkits, keep in mind that everything should be UWP now. There are surely console-specific features and whatnot but the tools are already there, it's a matter of getting finalized specs and kits/spec target hardware out for testing, but development on Scorpio titles is certainly well underway thanks in part to the common platform they're being developed on.Comment

We'll see what happens, but I wouldn't think there'd be Scorpio only titles until there's enough out there....most would just use the added power like Xbox One S and PS4 Pro....or on PC how they optimize higher tooNintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Xbox One
Yeah, that was my point with the PS4 Pro...it's great for newer tvs, but wasn't a crazy powerful update.

But the capability to see a big upgrade is there, we just need software to take advantage of it.
That will also be the case for Scorpio I would imagine. The capability will be there for sure but we need game devs to exploit it fully. We likely will see very little at first, like the PS4 Pro has had very little, but oh my, down the road it will be big I think, very much so.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Xbox One
And special wise, we're going to see a big difference from the PS4 PRO and Xbox One Scorpio. Just from what I know and some devs I've talked to, it's going to be quite the difference.
I own the Pro, but I'm underwhelmed by it. The Scorpio, again, from my trusted people, is going to be an extremely impressive piece of hardware.Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: Xbox One
This stance has changed. MS itself won't have 1st party titles be exclusive to the scorpio. It's up to 3rd party developers to decide whether or not to support both.

I believe the big differences we will see will be in VR. I believe with the monetary and technological backing from Facebook and Microsoft, they together will eventually take the lead in VR.
I believe there will be exclusives, but only in VR. 1st and 3rd parties will both take advantages of 4k resolutions and High Dynamic Ranges. When you hear the expression, "Third parties can do what they wish", comment, think of it in the perspective of the gaming developers and publishers. These games have a strict budget to adhere to. Would a gaming company dedicate time and resources and fracture a base?
Now, (besides playing 4K discs) does this sound like what the PS4 Pro is doing?

Re: Xbox One
Oh. I agree, it doesn't make a lot of sense to put an exclusive out to a system that doesn't have a big installation base. But I'm just saying, ps4 pro won't allow it period. X1 Scorpio Saya do it at your own discretion.
My people are pro Sony, and haven't been a X1 fan, even with the Slim. But they're amped for the Scorpio. That's why I'm ecstatic. I wasn't that drawn to it until earlier this week when I talked to them. I like my X1 Slim, but if the Scorpio was going to bring marginal upgrades like I've seen from the Pro, I wouldn't jump on it. Now, as soon as it's available for preorder, I'm paid in full ready to go.
There's very few people that I'd blindly follow without seeing it first hand, but from what I've heard, I'm sold.
There's also a difference between true native 4k and checkerboard and scaling techniques. I've seen the difference and it's discernible to me.
Again, no knock on the ps4 pro, as I own it and have since launch, but I'm not blown away by it. But going on what I've heard, I'll be shocked at the Scorpio. I'll eat crow if I'm wrong, but I trust my people.Twitter - WTF_OS

You're right, I've seen 4k and the impact from photo to live is much greater. But in fairness. For a person with 20/20 vision. He/she won't be able tell the difference from more than 2 feet away from the set. Well, besides the gifted 20/50'sComment

Re: Xbox One
Screw this parity bullcrap and being connected to Xbox One. Seriously, I will never ever understand Sony, Mircosoft or anyone in general that says the consoles have to be connected with the past simply because if it's connected to the past, then what the hell is the point of developing and releasing it in the first place?
And for people who'll say 4K and HDR.....as much as I love HDR, there's now dynamic HDR which was revealed yesterday or the day before at CES I think. So in this regard, PRO is already behind. Hell, it's already behind and has been a disappointment.
But back to those who say 4K and HDR.....we can't even get 1080P/locked 30FPS in every game and yet we're rushing into 4K and HDR.....to me, if you can't do it correctly, don't ******* do it!!!
Back to the rumored Scorpio CPU.....im hoping that's true and believe that it will be simply because why wait until Fall 2017 to release Scorpio when they could have just done the Sony route instead and release it this past November? Games that have better visuals and whatnot on PS4 PRO have been mainly via patch so Scorpio games would have been the same.
Please please please.....Microsoft, please stop with the parity and whatnot. As good as Xbox One has sold overall, it lost to PS4. Start anew.....Scorpio baby!!!!! Give me games that AREN'T held back by the previous console like the start of every gen normally is due to cross gen.
Cross Gen is basically what PS4/PS4 PRO is...lesser version on PS4....better visual version on PRO.....it's like AC IV Black Flag on PS3 and it looking better and having more foliage on PS4.
Sorry for the rant but to me, mid gen consoles simply serves no purpose at all except trying to get everyone to spend another $400 on the console they SHOULD have had three years ago.
Back to the CPU rumors, I'll be so happy if/when that turns out to be true. Oh boy, oh boy!!!Comment
