I have definitely snuck games and other stuff in without telling my wife. I will say that we both held firm that we would never ask our child to lie for us, or help hide the truth from each other. We believe it can erode a child’s trust and security. It also pretty much establishes that lying is okay if you get what you want.

I would never comment on how others choose to deal with their wives when it comes to buying anything, "BUT" I work with guys who's wives have them on such a string when comes to buying anything its ridiculous. I have a buddy who wanted a PS4 and his wife told him to save $5 a check and get one. When I met my wife, I played games and that will never change.
She truly understands that games have always been a part of my life. We also have separate finances... which my friends don't understand. It just works for us. Never any money fights. I'm truly blessed in this case, She does whatever she wants(concerts, cruises, whatever). I buy and do whatever I want. We're very happy.
I've read these post for days trying to decide if I should post my situation without sounding like I'm bragging, but its just the truth. We're very fortunate to be able to provide for our three kids and still enjoy our hobbies.Florida State Seminoles

We both work, we split all house expenses and Bill's, evenly, seperate bank accounts. Also. Do a vacation pool evenly. Always believed in equality, no man of the house syndrome here. 13 years and going strong , we have fights like any normal marriage, but never about money. But we both went through ugly first marriages, so that always helps with perspective. Chores of house also split and a Team effort. We also do stuff together and not together. Everyone needs their space. I game while she is on phone talking to her sisters. I never tell her I could be out drinking or going to strip clubs instead of gaming, just pointless. She wants nothing to do with gaming, but understands I love to game. But, I manage it and make sure it is not only thing I am doing. I get stuff done around house first, if we are both off spend time together. Plenty of other times she is working when I am not that I can game. Balance and perspective.

Re: Xbox One
Haha “save 5 dollars a check” like you are a kid again. F that. It’s a wife not your parents. Glad mine isn’t like that.
Anyways....
I signed up for gamepass and I’ve been enjoying State of decay 1. I’m really curious how the coop is going to work in 2. They say it’s “Drop In Drop out” which kind of worries me. I want to be able to play with a group and make progress on all our worlds. Don’t want a far cry situation where only the host makes real progress.Comment

Played NBA Live 18 for the first time in a while last night and man, the lighting in that game is so good! I have a 4K TV and One S, and I could definitely tell a big difference between my experience last night and my old 1080p TV.Currently Playing:

I’m in the same boat as you. My wife and I have separate checking and savings accounts. Been married 10 years and it works for us. It would drive me nuts if my wife told me not to buy something especially with my own money lol. She buys her stuff and I buy mine. At the end of each month I pay the mortgage and cars and she pays everything else including our 2 boys and no issues. I hear stories of guys not allowed to buy games and I scratch my head lol, but whatever works for you and makes you happy is all that matters. We’re both truly blessed as well. If my wife told me save $5 per check to buy a console oh boy lol.

Once I saw how much her shampoo and conditioner were, and she saw how much my games were! That didn't last very long. I once had a guy at my work argue with me cause he thought I could save $10 if I bundled my car insurance with my wife. These are the same dudes that rent games and stay up all night for three days just to beat them, cause their wives won't let them buy crapLast edited by fsufan4423; 04-10-2018, 08:33 PM.Florida State Seminoles
