Multi-platform games are great but three of my top four games are PS4 exclusives. Quality wise, exclusives are usually better but more so, should be better because the game only needs to be developed for one platform. God of War gave me 80+ hours of excellent gameplay, story, characters, etc. in a semi-open world that looks breathtaking to explore. AC Origins gave me over 100 hours but the story and characters flopped at the end because it was rushed and had no build up. Yeah, ACO looks superb but as an overall game, it's not on the same level of Horizon or God of War because it's lacking in certain areas.
The only game I put ahead of those three PS4 exclusives is The Witcher 3 because in nearly every aspect, no other game is going to match it let alone surpass it regardless of the publisher. It's simply not going to happen. But do I need or want to replay it just because CDPR added a 4K/HDR patch? Hell no.
Obviously, online focused games are different but since im not an online guy, they don't apply to me but for those that do, it's great they keep supporting those games. But when it comes to 4K/HDR, once PS4 Pro launched, every game that was released for PS4 on November 15th, 2016 or afterwards should have had that implemented day one. Same for X (Nov. 7th, 2017). Should not be months or years later. That's just unacceptable in my eyes.
In this regard, Sony is the only publisher that hasn't disappointed me yet.
