The nonsensical reason directly from Apple:
The reason, an Apple spokesperson said on Thursday, is because Apple isn't able to review each game that's available through Game Pass.
"The App Store was created to be a safe and trusted place for customers to discover and download apps, and a great business opportunity for all developers," an Apple spokesperson told Business Insider. "Before they go on our store, all apps are reviewed against the same set of guidelines that are intended to protect customers and provide a fair and level playing field to developers."
Because Microsoft isn't submitting each game on its streaming service to Apple's review process, the app that enables access to those games is being blocked from publishing.
Edit - and now an official comment from MS:
"Our testing period for the Project xCloud preview app for iOS has expired. Unfortunately, we do not have a path to bring our vision of cloud gaming with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to gamers on iOS via the Apple App Store," Microsoft tells Windows Central. "Apple stands alone as the only general purpose platform to deny consumers from cloud gaming and game subscription services like Xbox Game Pass. And it consistently treats gaming apps differently, applying more lenient rules to non-gaming apps even when they include interactive content.
"All games available in the Xbox Game Pass catalog are rated for content by independent industry ratings bodies such as the ESRB and regional equivalents. We are committed to finding a path to bring cloud gaming with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to the iOS platform. We believe that the customer should be at the heart of the gaming experience and gamers tell us they want to play, connect and share anywhere, no matter where they are. We agree."

I can play Apple Arcade on my Apple TV, but not my Xbox or PC.
I wish they played nice, but I'm not gonna waste time worrying about the why and such. I'll probably buy a tablet, maybe something like a Fire HD 10 for $150, or less for an 8. I have a 6, but I think my wife is sending that to a friend.
If it is is all that, I may switch phones. I might even sell my iPad Pro and get a Samsung tablet. But I'm not going to waste much emotion on this until I try it out. I've switched phones before. I use whatever tools do the job I need. Maybe I will wait and see what kind of Surface devices come out that may target Xbox more specifically. Who knows? It's an evolving feature.
I've used an iMac for 15 years, and just switched to a PC because I wanted to try out Game Pass Ultimate, plus it would play nicer with my my wife's work network.
My general rule is to not care about any media that I'm blocked from getting, unless I'm willing to adapt. If I won't change, then it's more like it doesn't exist. There are millions of things we will never get a chance to enjoy, I'll worry abut the ones I do.
It should not be hard to pick up a cheap tablet or phone if you want to check it out. For me, even a really nice tablet would be worth investing in if it makes my Xbox as portable as my Switch. But I can't know that until I try it.Comment

So if you have an Android phone you can get the Game Pass Beta app from the Play Store and try out cloud gaming (aka xCloud) in Game Pass (you need to subscribe to Ultimate to use it) today. It's only 39 titles available for streaming, but it's a sneak peak of the experience we're shipping next month.

I was in the prior testing and now this...I didn't see anything in the new Beta about Console Streaming, but hope that's coming back eventually
It's a great feature that saves you bandwidth.

Anyone experiencing issues with Live? I was just about to jump into a superstar mode game on Madden 10 and noticed I wasn't connected. Turned on my one S and it wasn't connected either.

Anyone notice how on enabling VRR on the Xbox x downgrades the graphics a little? I disabled it yesterday and instantly noticed a difference

xCloud is live, integrated into the Game Pass app on Android.
