Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread

Anyone have good recommendations for a nice chair that offers good back support. I don't need it to be fancy or a gaming specific chair. I just need an office chair for my desk that offers some lower back support because my current chair does not do that at all.

I bought some chair off of Amazon last year or the year before that was touted as offering good lower back support, but very quickly the thing lost the ability to really lock in place, so it leans back no matter what I've tried to do to fix the chair and it offers little in resistance and back support.

If I am playing with a controller I can lean back and kick my feet up and be comfortable, but using a mouse and keyboard and sitting up sucks with the thing.

I had a few issues but finally got it to work. Nice to have another 100+ games to play.

1 - if you already have EA Desktop Beta, it didnt work initially until I signed out and then signed back in.

2 - you are supposed to be able to click install from within the Xbox app (and I assume it would redirect you to the EA app) but it gives an error every time. Much easier to simply do it within the EA app, especially since the Xbox app doesn't list all games.

3 - EA desktop app is still buggy. Two instances I downloaded a game and it simply didn't recognize it. Had to uninstall from control panel (or windows settings) and download again. Still no option to uninstall from within the app either (for the games that actually recognized as downloaded), have to do that from control panel or windows settings.

NHL is my favorite of the EA Sports franchises. If it comes to PC I'm much more likely to hold on to EA Play and/or Games Pass, if not, I dunno... Alot of the good stuff I've already picked up on deep sales through steam.

Funny. I’m selling my Series X for the sole reason I’m buying a new gaming desktop when the one I want becomes available. Seems redundant when I already have a PS5.

I only bought a PS5 for baseball. If I could get something close to MLB The Show or PYS on PC, I'd never buy a console again.

I already had a PC with a i9 9900k and a 2080ti and still purchased a PS5 and Series X. I've always bought the newest consoles. I've since built a second PC with a 3090 and Ryzen 5950X and still fire up the consoles every now and then.

Playing on PC is a dream, but consoles is what I grew up playing and will always buy them. I thInk theres room for both platforms in the gaming space.

It was also mentioned via the Epic v Apple case that Phil Spencer (Microsoft) and Gabe Newell (Valve) have been regularly meeting.

Those looking towards playing old playstation games on your pc should soon be celebrating even though 41 games are in. I'm thinking it will increase.

PlayStation Studios is home to the development of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s own outstanding and immersive games, including some of the most popular and critically acclaimed titles in entertainment history.

They count DLC as games, that could be 17 cosmetic packs for something left. We’ve got 3 games (Days Gone, Horizon, and Helldivers) so far and 21 DLC, for 24 of those 41 games.

What have you guys been playing lately? Any suggestions for the Steam sale?

I haven't played PC since February and the was Destroy All Humans and Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun. Both great games, especially Shadow Tactics, but neither really pushing my rig.

I've been itching for The Witcher and played a bit of Mortal Kombat last night. Not sure what's new that strikes my fancy.

I've been playing a ton of Sea of Thieves. There is so much content in the game now compared to when I stopped playing it a few years ago.

I've gotten back into Rainbow Six Siege again and have had fun.

I just bought Metro Exodus on the steam sale and cannot wait to try it out. The other 2 games were great.

Outward is another game a buddy and I play. Co-OP RPG that will beat you down and then some.

Been back to playing a lot of Battlefield V as well. That's another game that is in a much better place than it was when it launched.

And the big ticket item we are waiting on is the co-op mod for Mount and Blade Bannerlord. Yes, there is an online mod out now already that basically makes it an MMO with 1,000 person servers. That looks neat, but a mod is getting close to release that allows you and friends to play the offline version of the game in co-op with all of the AI and whatnot unchanged.

Also, Tarkov just had a new wipe, so that's in the rotation.

Outside of Metro I am basically replaying older games at this point.

Pillars of Eternity II. After Divinity Original Sin 2, got into CRPGs in a big way. Before the Steam sale is over will probably grab the original POE, Banished and something else.

I've primarily been playing Total War Warhammer 2. Great RTS game.

I also finally picked up Horizon Zero Dawn on the Steam Summer sale. I have about 30 hours into it, and I have no experienced the issues that the game had at launch.

The first Witcher game is very dated. Worth playing for the story, but the controls are pretty choppy.
