Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread

Well the Sniper Elite V2 from Gamerkeys became a cluster****. Like all the other stores and everything else no release day was known. Then when it did release on 3rd, the codes they got were RU, region lock codes. So I just requested a refund rather than mess with the region lock stuff. I have never attempted to go this route, so maybe I am making a bigger issue than it really is. I just didn't feel like messing with all that.

I know you can save a *** load of money if you buy these region lock codes, they have Modern warfare 3 for $18 bucks. I just haven't tried this yet.

Anyone have any experience unlocking region lock games like this? If so, am I just making it seem harder than it really is? I mean if it really is easy, then I might start purchasing more region lock games and just unlock them. They are so much cheaper.

Edit: I just thought about it and canceled my refund request. Just going to attempt to figure out the region lock stuff. If it is not hard, I will pick up MW3 for $18.

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread

      I'm more concerned with this:

All keys sold on GamerKeys.net are 100% legitimate Retail codes. Each steam key that is sold through our service enables you to add that game to your steam library. Each game is real and authentic and comes from a retail box.
Game / Software codes are sent solely via email and by bying any game / software code on GAMERKEYS.NET you agree for GAMERKEYS to keep the original retail box of the game if one exist.
Plus I couldn't find anyone that'd let me use their phone.
I assume they're Russian and English isn't their first language.

Is it the same thing at http://getgamesgo.com/ with them delivering keys through a phone/e-mail thing?

Well all my other codes activate just find and legally through Origin & steam. But they are the United states version which I think is EU if I am not mistaken.

Codes are received through email, not through phone. It is basically identical to getgamesgo

The guy that runs the site, speaks good English. Don't believe he is from US, but he speaks good English. He is real helpful to, and they have not done me wrong in anyway. They just need to work out some kinks in what copies of keys they are receiving before posting it on the site.

I find he is jumping the gun to fast wanting to get them posted to the web. For instance the SEv2 copy was listed as a Steam copy, but nothing of RU was on listing like some of the other games on site. So I assumed it would be a standard US copy. Well then he gets the codes and they are RU copies, so he sends out refund stating this. You can get the game and go through work around or get a refund.

It still needs a phone call or SMS when signing up or whatever it was it was asking that I wasn't agreeing to.

I'm not questioning if the keys work.

Yea, I am not pushing you on it or anything. I am just saying that I have gone through it and nothing negative I can state other than them needing to clean up how they present which copies are available.

Here is some other reviews stating same thing

I am not sure 100% the purpose of the SMS, but I have not received any spam text/calls or emails.

If you don't feel comfortable I understand. I was apprehensive at first, but after reading reviews and using them myself. I have nothing bad to say other than "Be more clear with what copy you are selling".

See this review, is pretty much identical what happen with SEv2
I've bought keys a few times from gamerkeys.net and it's always been smooth sailing. And in the case of ME3 they informed the customers that the game would need patching from russian to english before sending out any keys. And they do have realtime support (not at all hours obviously) on the site if you need help with anything.

I got my key last night for Sniper Elite, and wasn't sure what I was doing wrong (always stated region locked).

After a very simple process that is posted on their site via video, everything is working perfectly. Very happy with my purchase now.

                Good to hear Mill!

I went ahead and got my key and installing it right now. Was not that difficult and I made it out to be a bigger deal in my head. I might pick up MW3 for 18 bucks if it is that easy lol

Nevermind, just saw you guys talking about it in the ARMA II thread.

It is so good that Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead is now in the Top 10 on Steam.

Come on we need more ARMA 2 players regardless. For coop and also for Day Z so we can group up as survivors.
