Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
You'll probably want to play through Spec Ops again. It's about 6 hours but there's all the alternate choices and 5 or 6 ending combinations. (Most you can just reload from the last save.)Comment

Bastion for $3.74 (one day sale): http://store.steampowered.com/app/107100/
If you're going to pick up the game, I highly recommend you pay the extra $2.50 for the soundtrack. Well worth it!Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
I reinstalled Aliens vs. Predator 2 today using the HD textures mod and 1080p resolution mod that are still up on filefront.
The game holds up just as well as I remember. I even see that there are custom servers still up for online play if you download the multiplayer server mod. I definitely will try to go through this game again before Aliens Colonial Marines comes out.Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Am I doing something wrong?
Just bought a brand new laptop, and downloaded Steam.
I want to get Red Alert 3, but first I figured I'll try the demo since it is available. I downloaded it, and it never boots up. Could it be a Windows 8 issue? It shows a screen for the start up, then just disappears and takes me to the Steam store for Red Alert 3.
Maybe the demo isn't really available?
EDIT: Never mind, it works now. I downloaded a different game and when I clicked to play that it downloaded something and that also allowed Red Alert to load up!Last edited by cjonesfan921; 02-05-2013, 10:07 PM.Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Since 2010, the sales have been focused around the fall time frame. Each year typically has a Summer Sale (June/July), Halloween Sale (obviously October), Autumn Sale (end of November), and Christmas Sale (December/January). Other than the major sales, this a new daily deal every day, mid-week sales (usually a two games), and a weekend sale (two or three games + a free to play weekend).
During the spring, you're best bet is to check GMG, GoG, Steam, etc. every other day or so to get some great deals.Comment

They have week long sales now too.
Steam grows hungry for wallets...
It seems the daily deals, weekend bargains and bi-annual sale armageddons weren’t enough. Steam has now introduced new Week Long Deals. If you haven’t guessed from the name, they’re a selection of discounted games (or “deals”) that last for seven days (or “a week”).PS: You guys are great.
