Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
one of my buddies got the daily double last night,
He starts up SimCity plays for a bit, but then gets some sort of connection problem, he then moves on to Tomb Raider plays for about 20 mins, before he had a graphics card issue that forced him to quit out of that game (he just installed a nvidia 670 ftw edition last week).
We decided to play Saints Row 3 co-op after that...no issues in that game except for my lousy driving.Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Or you could just read even more saying it's still not working: http://kotaku.com/5988985/yep-simcit...l-isnt-workingOr you could just read the SimCity thread and see that people are getting in and playing. Nobody expected a perfect launch myself included, but if you'd like to continue the self righteous chest pounding over a game you have no interest in here's the thread for it: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...d.php?t=539315 (where I posted the same link 3 hours ago)
Meanwhile many of us are playing the game rather than refreshing Kotaku to see what angsty writer has written for the anti-DRM/anti-EA mob this time in between bouts of cutting himself.
and...
Once able to get in the game stability is still a concern. The most upvoted thread on the Simcity subreddit right now talks about an issue where users are being forced to abandon cities or rollback once they leave, losing all progress.
If buyers were even unluckier and their game showed as still locked in Origin, the only option is to contact EA Support. That said, with a wait time of somewhere around 855 minutes, it’s probably just worth waiting for EA to iron out the issues
Last night, EA and Maxis officially took the wraps off the latest iteration of Simcity…supposedly. The launch — which the company has been performing private load testing for — was a complete failure. The company stood its ground that there
I did have intrest in the game but don't now. However the issue is far bigger than one game. It's a general PC issue. It's disgusting. If you support it you should have your games taken away. Next time it'll happen to you where you can't play your game for 2 days, have to wait 8 hours for support and see how you like it then. There's people refreshing Kotaku/twitter/reddit/whatever news site because CAN'T PLAY THE GAME or if they can it's broken. There's no angsty writer. It's reporting the problems the people are having as they should and least trying to hold them responsible for their crap before this goes down the same road as the horse armor did.
You want it from another site? http://www.gamesradar.com/simcity-la...ervers-strain/
Sim City's launch was (and still is to a certain extent) a complete mess. So what can EA do about it?

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Again it's not about Sim City. That's why it's not in the Sim City thread.
It's about the problem of always online DRM that can affect any PC games and the problems it would cause should they continue with it regardless of what company or game because it's been done twice and been nothing but complete and utter disaters. Also to some extent about how companies should be held responsible for such failures.Comment

Picked up Primal Carnage for $5, looks like L4D but with dinosaurs instead of zombies.
