Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Have y'all been following http://store.steampowered.com/livingroom/? SteamOS was unveiled Monday, with two more announcements to come this week. SteamOS has me very excited, especially if it utilizes drivers developed for Windows/Linux like ReactOS does. Also, according to Valve, some game companies are already building games specifically for SteamOS. I have no idea what the other two announcements will be. Originally, I figured one announcement would be hardware and another would be a new UI (turned out to be new OS). Here's the link specifically for SteamOS: http://store.steampowered.com/livingroom/SteamOS/
As for skins, I do not use them because I use (and enjoy) big picture mode on my main computer as its hooked up to my TV in the living room. And my laptop sucks, so any added flair isn't worth the extra minute of load time.Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
I looked for launchers but find steam is the best so I guess I'll add them to there. Found a site with all the graphics for big picture too but have to add them manually.
Unless there is a way to have steam recognise non steam games and add them?

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
I only have my cousin added to my friends list on Steam right now. But since I built a new computer and will probably be on it more, might as well add some of you all:

I haven't followed pCARS development closely, but every time I see new screens, I'm amazed.More Project CARS screens: http://www.flickr.com/photos/1553935...57631616739725

Anyone know what they are using to develop the graphics for this game? Looking at the videos, I think the physics package being used is a version of the Madness Engine (from NFS) that has been heavily edited to work better. I'm just curious to know how they are making this game look so good while maintaining solid functionality.
EDIT: Just learned pCARS added a new Galileo lighting engine...looks sweet: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013...alileo-engine/Last edited by Cod; 09-25-2013, 11:21 PM.Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
http://kotaku.com/shocking-cut-amnes...ion-1412813931The horror game Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs had its share of gruesome moments. But one scene, cut from the game for being too disgusting, would have overshadowed them all.
Pinchbeck: There was a pig ****ing a dead body. The problem was it just looked like the pig was raping someone. It started off ****ing a female body, and actually it just looked like rape. So we switched it out for a male body, and it looked like gay rape. No better. We were trying to make a point of how animalistic the pigs were. But it didn’t add enough to justify the schlock.
Jessica Curry: We were lying in bed together and Dan tapped me on the shoulder and woke me up and went, “Pigs ****ing human corpse.” I thought, “Who the **** have I married!”
