Picked up Insurgency over the weekend, FANTASTIC sim shooter. There is to much to describe that is awesome, but if you are interested in games like ARMA and wished there was a smaller scale multiplayer game in that style. Well go get Insurgency, for $15 bucks it is excellent!

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is on sale for $19.99 at Amazon. First time I've seen it drop below $35. I'm really on the fence about this game, but may jump since its so cheap and considered to be one of the Top 3 AC games (behind ACII of course).

We need more sports games on the PC but this is nice to see even though I'm not into golf.

I'm not a huge golf fan either; however, I remember having tons of fun as a young'un playing Links. I used to get so excited when my dad would bring home a box of 3.5" floppies with a new course.

What drives me towards this game is the amount of user generated content that'll be involved. The course creator / sharing is enough to see me on it.

I just asked the OS group owner on Steam if I can become a moderator. I'd like the page to be updated more and for us to be more active there as well (setting up games, etc.). I mean, the group has a chat room, forum, etc. that we never use.

                Any thoughts?

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread

Played a few rounds of the Golf Club. Nice, solid golf game.

I'm absolutely terrible at it, and it's still quite unpolished (animations can seem a bit wonky in rare occasions) and feels a bit... stiff... but that's just at first blush. I've played two of the courses and generated my own once (which is an amazing feature.)

I feel like putting is the worst for me (when I don't shank a drive.) I don't quite have the feel of how far back the putter needs to go to get where.

All in all, I am not disappointed with the purchase at all - even at $30. Once they add in some features it'll be well worth the purchase. The actual rounds of golf play pretty damn well. Here's to hoping for an online 'clubhouse' type feature. I have a feeling the "Operation Sports Tour" will be a highly contested, quite fun, time once those get off the ground. Though, I will be at the bottom of the leaderboard every time until I can get used to the putting mechanics.

Unless they put out a demo, I'll pass on Golf Club. I'm not going to gamble on their control scheme if they aren't at least going to put in a basic, tried and true, three click system.

I hate the 3 click system so much. To easy to hit shots. Always liked analog stick back and forward and the mouse straight back and forward.

Then make the meter faster, make the good zones smaller, etc, if it's too easy for you. When I play a golf game I want to play the lie of the ball, the terrain, the distance, the club, the swing, the stance, etc, etc, etc. I'm not interested in learning how fast and meticulously straight I need to push a mouse or an analog stick that has absolutely nothing to do with golf (I was just as accurate with mouse swing in Links as I was 3 click, I found mouse swing easier, it just wasn't as fun).

But, anyway, that's all beside the point, without a 3 click backup I'm not gambling $30+ on their swing method not being ****.

Guess I didn't realize there was a chat-room incorporated into Steam Groups (insert "Well DUH!" here.)

I'll start hanging out in there, hopefully it's something that can gain traction and take off. Would be a cool real-time alternative to the forums for some general banter.

Still waiting a reply. Person hasn't been online in 3 days...hopefully they will soon.

As for The Golf Club, are y'all having any performance issues? I can't seem to get over 15 fps. Its playable, but not preferred. Anyone know of any nVidia Inspector profiles for this game yet? I'm trying to "make it" utilize SLI and not just a single card.
