Anyone played Halfway? It's a turn-based game like XCOM. Have it downloading right now.

Not sure if this is the right thread to ask, but while having a solid mouse, I'm looking into getting an Xbox 360 wired controller for certain types of games. How is the experience in games with it?

Most PC games these days will recognize an Xbox 360 controller instantly.

It's the most-used PC controller on the market.

The last PC game I played that didn't recognize my Xbox 360 controller was The Binding of Isaac. Besides that game, I can't even think of another example that came out recently.

Even then, you can always use third-party programs like Joy2Key to force controller support into any PC game.

Just get the wireless adapter (If you have a wireless controller already)

Yeah, I got a wireless adapter off ebay for like $1.99 and has worked fine. Use my wireless controller and auto syncs when you turn it on.

Nice, thanks for the info. I didn't know about the wireless adapter bit, will look into it.

I have a question for you guys on PC.

Is there any disadvantages to using a controller on PC rather than the mouse and keyboard? I'm solely a console gamer and my brother is selling me his $2,000 rig for $700 to fund his new one. I just can't seem to get used to the keyboard and mouse, it just doesn't feel right after 10+ years of console gaming..

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread

It really depends on the game's genre. Shooters and strategy games are usually more efficient to play with a mouse and keyboard. You'll be at a competitive disadvantage if you choose to play those games online with a controller.

For other genres, I just use my wired Xbox 360 and PS4 controllers.

Both input methods are supported in just about every PC game these days.

Yeah, the notable exceptions are Blizzard's games (including Diablo 3 which never had controller support backported in after consoles got it). Have to go Keyboard/Mouse if you want to play those.

But yeah, most games are compatible these days, and for the ones that aren't you can download Joy2Key and assign keyboard commands to your controller buttons.

I only use a controller for strategy games, everything else a controller. I don't play online though if that means anything.

For games without controller support, I use Pinnacle Game Profiler and just download the profile for the game I want. It's a paid application but free profile downloads.

I tried joy2key and xpadder but the mapping of mouse movements was poor in comparison. I just downloaded the manhunt profile and using it is like playing on a console instantly versus the others which I had to set everything up manually and the mouse movement was poor (slight movement equals sneak with pinnacle).

                          Incline of Gamespot ?

Jess covers off on some awesome nostalgia-inspired games that are refusing to compromise for the support of big publishers.

Console shooters based around aim assist being heavily built in and featured.

Anyone have any thoughts on Injustice: Gods Among Us?

I'm in the market for a new-ish fighting game and its on sale again. Should I buy it or wait until Ultimate Street Fighter IV goes on sale again? I love going to the arcade to play SF IV and I figure the PC version is probably very similar.

If you're talking about PC fighters and don't have your allegiance tied to a game...

King of Fighters XIII STEAM Edition is in the humblebundle right now. Gotta pay (currently) more than $6.83 to unlock the extra games, which it's an extra.

Actually, this Humble Bundle is filled with fantastic games. I had most of them, but I didn't mind paying 7 bucks for KoF since it was on my wishlist and it's still a $30 game.
