Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Yea, I don't understand these companies forcing gamers to use "their" system. Its like they don't know "Games for Windows Live" and Uplay are terrible OR they just like making gamers lives harderUbisoft isn't selling AC: Unity, Far Cry 4, and The Crew on Steam.
I was on the fence with AC and Far Cry 4, but after dealing with the cluster**** that was uPlay with Watch Dogs, I'll be skipping on them now.
Peace, Ubi. Amazing how much Ubi have pissed people off the past few weeks between 30 FPS vs 60 FPS and now pulling all new games from Steam.

The ridiculous specs they released for AC made no sense anyway. It was Insane.Ubisoft isn't selling AC: Unity, Far Cry 4, and The Crew on Steam.

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
I get it, and I'm not for Uplay by any means, but you'd have to use uPlay anyway, even if they did release the game on Steam. This way just allows for you to skip the extra layer of DRM in your DRM(plus they get 100% of the profit).
That said, it seems the decision has been reversed according to the link Sandman posted and the games are back on Steam.
I'll be passing regardless.PS: You guys are great.

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
At least with Origin you can move your game to different drives. Uplay you can't move it and you lose your saves once you re-download. I was close to 100% AC4 when I upgraded my computer and lost it all.Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
I don't get the hate about Origin besides the old it's EA therefor it's evil. It's basically steam with lesser sales and not as much community stuff which I never use anyway. Uplay sucks though.New York Yankees

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Piss poor client, no good features that aren't elsewhere, pulled games from Steam, some games require even more plug-ins that don't work for **** (hello battlelog.)
It's just a terrible money grab trying to get in on Steams market but providing nothing new or noteworthy and doing nothing nearly as well.
Everyone I personally know will never buy an EA or Ubi PC game until they get their heads out of their asses.badComment

I agree, but you better believe I'd buy a new gen Madden/NCAA/NHL/NBA Live on PC if it was the same as console...even with an Origin requirement.Piss poor client, no good features that aren't elsewhere, pulled games from Steam, some games require even more plug-ins that don't work for **** (hello battlelog.)

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
I honestly don't see what wrong with the client its self, works fine (I even get faster downloads than on steam) all I want is something to launch the games. Steam is definitely superior but Origin does its job just fine for me.Piss poor client, no good features that aren't elsewhere, pulled games from Steam, some games require even more plug-ins that don't work for **** (hello battlelog.)

Never really played BF on PC outside of buying it on sale realizing I suck and moving on
but wouldn't the Battlelog be more of a DICE decision? Not sure just putting it out there.
Pulling games from another marketplace has nothing to do with the client, that's EA's choice as a company to promote their own product and there is nothing wrong with that. So what if its a "money grab" that happens in every industry in the world especially in gaming. I wouldn't be surprised if a few other publishers pop up with their own clients in the future.
Im no EA fanboy don't mistake me for one but I honestly don't understand the EA hate anymore. Or the mindset that Steam is the end all be all market for PC gaming which is just ridiculous.New York Yankees
