The crunching spider noise still haunts me to this day.

For the SimTower fans out there, Yoot Tower which is the successor for ST is available on IOS. It's kind of pricey and its abandonware but it will definitely scratch the SimTower itch.

Hard to believe that no one else has made a game similar to SimTower, have to believe there is a sizable audience for it.

Interesting...I may look into this when my computer becomes obsolete (a year or two). Thanks for the review.

No problem. I can't wait to see what they do in the next few years. The Alpha is a nice first run at things. If they can allow for easy replacements to the GPU and keep the small form factor, then I can see these things really taking off in the future.

I bought a HOTAS and everything for it. Flight HOTAS X.

Haven't played it a ton, it's probably too open ended for the amount of time I have available, lol. I've just been wandering a little, it's so dumb how much I love approaching and docking at a facility.

What you guys think is the best price to performance nvidia card out right now? I'm thinking the 960 at $200 is pretty good deal. The 970 at $350 is little to steep in my opinion.

The 970. With only 2GB of VRAM the 960 and that's just not going to be enough with the games coming out this gen requiring more and more if you're trying to play at the highest settings and/or playing at higher resolutions. I'd recommend the the r9 280x($229) over the 960 if you were looking at a sweet spot between the two, but since you're saying Nvidea specifically, the 970 is the better choice, imo.

Note that the higher performance over the 285 is because the 960 that's tested is overclocked with the 285 at reference.
                    PS: You guys are great.

I hate AMD's drivers while you can get little more power per dollar going AMD, I just rather spend a little more to stay with Nvidia.

I'm thinking 970 might be the best price point after reading bunch of reviews on both cards.

Are the 970s still suffering from the memory allocation issues? Or have recent Nvidia drivers fixed those problems?

I've read a bunch of reviews yesterday on that card and never came across anything about this. You have any articles on this?

Yeah, I always hear from ATI/AMD fans that driver issues are a thing of the past... But after being burnt a couple times by poor support id rather go with a quality nvidia card.

So I pulled my part list from the 2007 build off newegg.

                                Foxconn P45A Motherboard
Intel Q6600 2.4 Quad (OC to 3.0 ghz)
                                4gb OCZ Reaper DDR2 1066 ram
9800 GT (Upgraded to GTX 560Ti)
PC Power and Cooling 750 PS
(more with case, drives, aftermarket fans, etc)

                                I'm thinking

                                Intel 4690K
                                GSkill Ripjaw DDR3 1600 ram
                                GTX 970

Now for the motherboard I'm going to need some research. I only need 1 PCIe 3.0x16 slot since I will never run SLI. I also don't need any highend onboard sound since I run a Creative Sound Blaster Z currently. You guys have any thoughts on a decent mobo for the i5 4690k? It obviously needs OC ability to take advantage of the K series, but other than that I want it to be pretty basic. No need to pay high prices for features I won't utilize.

                                Edit: ATX also
