Well my CD-drive that I didn't use is dead. Hopefully the rest of my system is fine.

Don't know. I put it in standby and went to bed and woke up to the smell. I missed the good part.

OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread

Newegg is really playing a game with their customers and not being honest about any kind of return/exchange. I reported this to them last Friday for an RMA based on what we have found out with the 970, been speaking with one of their managers since Monday. He first promised me that Wednesday he'd have an answer from their internal team on what they can do, then tells me Thursday it'll be by noon Friday with possibly end of day. The guy even tells me if their internal team doesn't do anything by end of day Friday, he will over ride their system for my RMA. I receive an email from him later in the afternoon that they still have no decision on what they are going to do with the 970's and that they are still getting quite a bit of calls on the card.

This has really soured my experience with Newegg and I fully understand that they have no obligation to take these 970's back after the 30 day return window. They did sell a product that doesn't meet the specifications that Nvidia touted and even he agreed with me that they should take these cards back. Considering that Amazon has been giving full refunds since last week, it's pretty weak that they aren't helping out their customers.

Well the rest of the system works fine. I got one of my BenQ monitors today. The other apparently had a damaged label and won't get here until Wednesday. I am really impressed by the quality of the BenQ monitors. I can't wait to have both of them running side by side.

You realism war fans, I highly suggest you go pick up Rising Storm. Steam has it on sale for $4.99. I've been playing this lately and its a really good multiplayer.

Also contains all multi-player content from Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad

I might check this out. About to start my PC gaming life soon. Gonna get a EVGA GTX 970 on Friday so I can officially be cool. I think...

LOL this game is little older so it requires far less than a 970. Now as far as multiplayer realistic combat, Red Orchestra has always been fantastic. If this is your first foray into PC gaming I suggest ARMA 3 also.

OK Guys I am on the verge of selling my xbox and ps4 and make the jump to PC

I might keep the ps4 for the Show but debating.

I want a laptop for gaming so I can use it in the living room for browsing and when gaming on the tv stand to connect to tv via HDMI

I know desktop is more powerful and etc etc but I dont want a desktop

So my choices are as follows and I need the help of the OS fam to help decide what is the best choice between 2 laptops that I decided on

What are the pros and cons of each and will they allow me to get minimum 60fps and full 1080p in all games and since I have a 4k 65 inch tv would this help achieve that
