Weight and battery life aside, if you're willing to spend that much on a laptop you'll likely not be disappointed. That's the class of laptop we'll probably be buying next also.

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
I've had my gaming laptop for awhile and it has been great. ASUS G74xOK Guys I am on the verge of selling my xbox and ps4 and make the jump to PC
I might keep the ps4 for the Show but debating.
I want a laptop for gaming so I can use it in the living room for browsing and when gaming on the tv stand to connect to tv via HDMI
I know desktop is more powerful and etc etc but I dont want a desktop
So my choices are as follows and I need the help of the OS fam to help decide what is the best choice between 2 laptops that I decided on
What are the pros and cons of each and will they allow me to get minimum 60fps and full 1080p in all games and since I have a 4k 65 inch tv would this help achieve that
ASUS ROG G751JY-DH71 17.3-inch Gaming Laptop, GeForce GTX 980M Graphics
MSI Computer GT72 DOMINATOR GT72 DOMINATOR PRO-211 17.3-Inch Laptop
Thanx
I'm close to getting a new one and will demote mine to a streaming laptop. .
I'm positive I'll never build a desktop again.Joshua:

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Would you go for the New Asus I just posted?
So far I hear that both delivery great ultra settings on all new games at 60fps or higher which is awesome for a gaming laptop. The 980m card is the big star here but I hear that on the MSI the GPU can be changed in the future and not on the ASUS.
Both are priced about the same and I just want to make the best choice on which will give me at least 4-5 years of high end settings on all games.Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
So my mouse died today, which means its time to buy a new one. I need a wireless mouse or a wired mouse with a pretty long coord since I sit about 4-5 ft from my TV. I'd prefer a Logitech if going with the wireless option since I already have a Logitech dongle in my computer (for HDTV keyboard). Any suggestions?Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
I'm travelling for work a few times plus I travel with the family for the summer so I got me a Surface Pro 3.

I got the i5 with 8gb of ram. It isn't a gaming laptop or anything like that but I'm going to try some Steam games on it and see how it goes.Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
My coworker has a Surface Pro 3 and it's awesome. Like you said, not sure how it'd be as a gaming machine, but I'd love one as a tablet/laptop.
Plus if you have Xbox One in the future you could try streaming the games onto it through Windows 10....Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

I've used wireless since I got my laptop with 0 issues. The only online gaming I've done is really with Battlefield but had no issues at all.Joshua:

I'd side with ASUS but I'm biased. Love ASUS and that one seems really nice.Would you go for the New Asus I just posted?

Any suggestions for a wireless keyboard? Mine just died (mainly for using my PC on my HDTV)

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
I use a Logitech K520 KB/Mouse Combo
Not a high end set but it's been flawless for me.
I don't use the mouse though as I use a wireless Logitech trackball mouseJoshua:

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
I think Bruins may be on thewirecutter.com's payroll
For my HDTV, I use the Logitech K400 (https://www.logitech.com/en-us/produ...keyboard-k400r). It cost like $20.Comment
