Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
I'm back into the PC master race.
I7 5820K 6 core
Asus X99-A Motherboard
MSI GTX 980
16 GB 2400 DDR4
1 256 GB SSD
2 1TB HDD
Hypo Evo 212 cooler
750 watt power supply
Corsair Carbide Spec 02
3 120mm case fans, I would have installed 2 more but the Hypo took up all the room at the top of the case.
26 inch BenQ monitor
I reached the point of where my old build was too old and could no longer be upgraded, so I sad F it, I'm going to socket 2011-v3 and DDR4. Oh yeah I'm still using Windows 7, I hate Windows 8.Comment

I felt the same way about Win8 and stuck with 7. When I finally tried 8.1 though I've had no regrets about sticking with it(using with Start8).PS: You guys are great.

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Yep that's what i do. I was an early adopter of Win8 before all the drivers were there and abandoned it until the 8.1 update came and I like the fact that it uses less resources and just as fine to use with start8 as windows 7....compatible with my windows tablet/laptop as well. Not having any issues.
I also agree... man, what game did you see to prompt you to put together that build Madskillz? .... let me guess batman? lolComment

I use Windows 8.1 with start 8 and have zero regrets. At first I didn't like it but start8 was a gamechanger for me personally.Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Well I said for the past 4 years I am going to upgrade my PC but never did and now it got to the point the motherboard got outdated and left me no upgrade path so I figured might as well just start from scratch.
And when Nvidia announced the Titan X for $1,000 I said yeah I will just buy the 980 for half that price. And the recent batch of PS4 games coming in at 900p just irked me big time. So I said it is time for me to build a new rig and just go all out.
But yes, also Batman

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
I hear ya! I'm still rolling with a 7850 2GB from 2011...granted, I've OC'd it a little, but the amount of vRAM still limits me a little. My goal is for my GPU to last 5-years each iteration and still maintain better quality than consoles. So far, the current GPU has done very well.Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
I've been putting away a $100 dollar bill each time I get paid. So in 3 months I had $600 and did the main upgrade. Now I have $200 in my wallet and next Friday going to throw another hundred in there. Then it will be 970 time or I'll wait another 2 weeks and get a 980.
My 560ti has run its course and its time to upgrade to 4 gig of vRam.Comment
