Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
nah 23, I just put a few $$$$ in a separate account for daddy things. I don't spend much at all on myself throughout the year, but reward myself by putting back $100 or so a month To use on a "as wanted " basis

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
How often does Portal 2 go on sale? I know it was $4.99 during the Summer Sale, but haven't kept up with it. I'm thinking about getting it, but $8 on console used looks better than $19.99 on steam.Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
It was $3.99 during the Winter sale. Next time will probably be the Summer sale but it could go on sale at any time between now and then technically. If you add it to your wishlist you'll get a notification when it does. If you use Enhanced Steam with your browser you'll be able to see where it's on sale anywhere.PS: You guys are great.

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
It's called hustling Dre. Lol!
I got lucky, I was able to return my 970 to Newegg which I bought back in September last month due to the 970 fiasco with NVIDIA. I took the funds from that and the manager at Newegg gave me a discount on a 980 so it cost me another $140 which was worth it to me.
This is my latest system, a powerhouse in a shoebox build.

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
I'm usually online from 8pm - 11pm HST (I think its a 6 hr difference from EST).
Like Phobia, I love Arma! I recently started playing it and already have over 30 hrs in. I highly recommend everyone new to the game plays through the bootcamp scenario and VR training. It will give you a very good introduction to the game. And remember...this isn't CoD or Battlefield.Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Finished bootcamp this evening. Once I figured out how to pull my compass and figure out my sights, I was off. Been over 20 yrs since I played a shooter with keyboard and controller, so I'm learning all over. Can already tell I am going to dig this game.
Would you guys say this is one of the more demanding games on Steam now? Trying to gauge the performance of the Alpha as it run this very well on high settings.Comment
