Phobia switching teams, say it ain't so, LOL. But it is about time you upgraded. 1GB of VRAM just not going to cut it anymore.

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Shoot that barely works for anything nowadays. Can't even upgrade from Windows XP with 1 gig of ram in your rig.
..Im surprised you were doing so well with Arma 3Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Not sure how you were playing Arma3 on a 560ti when my GTX 670 is having issues
I have equal parts driver and Windows 10 problems though I think.
Have been thinking about trying to snag a GTX 960 or something from that family.Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
lol I have 8 gigs ram its the video card which has 1gig vram
Hell my 560ti runs ARMA 3 on high, granted since arma 3 is more CPU intensive its the i5 4690k devils canyon that makes the difference.
Damn my case won't fit none of these cards. So now Im off to find a case!!Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Yeah, maybe it's because I'm just overdue for an entirely new build. I've got 12gb of RAM, my GTX 670 (which I upgraded to from a 5870 when I built this rig) and an i7 920 that is finally starting to show its age on games like Arma3 at 1440p.

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Yeah Arma is more CPU based then GPU. I can run Arma 3 on Ultra everything with the 5820K and 980. But yeah Phobia I feel you on the size of these cards. My 980 barely fits in my Corsair mid tower case.Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
My coolmaster case is a great case and I hate to lose it. Hell I don't want to go full tower at all. I guess maybe I can take a pair of tin snips to my coolmaster drive bay to make room.
Edit: Sapphire 290 is on its way http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814202143
$240 after rebate, not bad for card that competes with the 970.
Edit 2: Had a issue with paypal, called them to resolve issue and they gave me $10 as a "I'm sorry". So
$230 for the 290 lolLast edited by Phobia; 04-17-2015, 02:32 PM.Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
You are hilarious
I uninstalled everything before the recent upgrade with a 3rd party driver uninstaller AMD told me to DL.
It works for both AMD and Intel. Put in the new card and let the AMD site pick and DL the compatible driver for me itself and boom, i'm all in.
While I wanna get Arma now, you guys aren't on much as I see, plus its a shame its still full price.Comment

I'm on damn near every night. Granted I'm writing my final thesis paper for school so that will be cutting into some of my time, but I expect 2 months I'll be completely done. You are hilarious

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
What third party app did you use? I've been having driver crashing and recovery issues with my 280x with certain games so I want to try a clean install. You are hilarious
