Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread

Reminds me just how long it's been since I've played Arma 3.

I mostly played the Epoch mod (similar to the other survival games like Day Z) with some friends from work. It was a blast for the most part.

I need to give H1Z1 a shot. I've owned it for a long time.

Actually, military spends 50% of the day in meetings and briefings...so your numbers are skewed

Eh, infantry was definitely not that way unless it was time for the yearly death by PowerPoint classes.

Isn't it great that you can have a library of 120+ games and sit here thinking that you have nothing to play?

I'm in the mood for a tactical shooter, sort of like Rainbow Six, but I haven't played Siege in so long because of all of the server issues. I know Overwatch is coming out, but what are some good, small shooters that require some teamwork? CSGO is obviously the king, but I don't play that alone too often.

I like Squad over Insurgency, but Insurgency is great also.

Not that impressed by the benchmarks I am seeing. Sure if you are building a new PC now, it will be the one to get and certainly nice to see the lower power consumption and price, but it is not the revolution they talked it up to be. I will hold onto my 980ti a bit longer and revisit the 2nd Gen Pascal releases and see where we stand then.

BTW, Witcher 3 is $24.99 on Steam now.

That's kind of where I am as well. If there's a 1080ti I might take a look again.

I think IS EXACTLY the revolution they are talking about. It's about roughly half the price of a Titan X and outperforms it in most of those benchmarks.

If I had a 980ti I wouldn't be upgrading either, but I don't think that means these cards aren't impressive or revolutionary.

The 1070 and 1080 are shaddy NVIDIA practices IMO. This is the first time ever that an X70 and X80 card have had almost $300 price difference. Mark my words, they are going to not only release a 1080Ti, but you will also see a 1070Ti to close the gap.

Specs released today on the 1070, the card seems like a similar joke like the 970.

Once the 980 Ti fire sales start, I'll be looking to pick one up. I hate my 970 and if I can get the 980 Ti at a reasonable price it'll last till HBM2.
