480, not 480x and yeah but keep in mind it's not competing with the high end offerings of Nvidia nor is it meant to be. Expect performance between 390 and 980 level. Still amazing price to performance though. The higher end comes later this year.

You plan on getting this or the higher end one?

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
I want to wait until at least the 490 is released but like you said, it's tempting. I'm gonna wait until I see a few benchmarks and how well it OCs before I decide though.PS: You guys are great.

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
I'm gaming in 1080p anyhow so no need for me to think about anything higher right now

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
I'm wondering if AMD will have a Polaris card sitting at that $300 price range (480x?) before we get tot he Vega chips.Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
I think they'll have one below and above the 480 before Vega. The one above will be either the 485 or 490 imo. They stressed in their conference that the Polaris chip would address the $100-300 price range.

Sounds like some fanboy nonsense that I was hoping we'd avoid on OS. There have been instances of cards running hot on both sides. AMD cards are no more "notorious" for it than Nvidia. Using more power? Sure, but that seems to be resolved with Polaris.PS: You guys are great.

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
AMD really is known for running hot... lol.
Drivers are why I'll continue to stay away though, 5870 was my last AMD/ATI card.
Interested in their response to things like Ansel, but if they're targeting mainstream and conceding the high end market to NVIDIA they're no longer making products for me anyways.Last edited by mestevo; 06-04-2016, 08:22 PM.Comment
