Lol! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯Originally posted by mestevo
Yeah, you're right... I really just googled "cooking an egg with a GPU" to find the videos canes talked about but only got results with Nvidia. Posted the first one that stood out to me. Turns out it was all a joke that I didn't get anyway. My bad.Originally posted by CusefanPS: You guys are great.

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Cooking an egg is an old running joke.
Also, AMDs are known for running hot. Hence, putting the two together.
if you really question AMD running hot is a thing. It's not bad, it's just that they run hot. My buddies 390 goes up to 99C under load. I won't touch them because of their driver issues, and nVidia has never given me a reason to go away like AMD has (but if and when they do, I'll switch.) It's also something that after market cooling can take care of.Last edited by ubernoob; 06-05-2016, 04:59 AM.badComment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
I was pretty scared of moving away from Nvidia for the first time when I grabbed my AMD 290. I wasn't scared of power consumption or how hot the card would run, I was worried 100% about driver issues. Surprisingly, I've had one driver issues and honestly AMD crimson software is fantastic, I much rather it over Nvidia's.AMD really is known for running hot... lol.
Drivers are why I'll continue to stay away though, 5870 was my last AMD/ATI card.
Interested in their response to things like Ansel, but if they're targeting mainstream and conceding the high end market to NVIDIA they're no longer making products for me anyways.
AMD has corrected this, where honestly, they are no worse than nvidia. That perception might still stick in some people minds, but under real world use, I've only had one driver issue so far. That's not much different than what I'd expect out of an nvidia experience.
The Driver Issue: In DayZ AMD diver version xxxxx caused flickering lighting.Last edited by Phobia; 06-06-2016, 08:34 AM.Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Having a wicked bad time trying to connect a SteelSeries Stratus XL to Steam Link. Buttons keep flashing, won't connect whatsoever. Even though the Steam link website says this gamepad is compatible via bluetooth. I am completely befuddled and need some help. Thanks.Comment

I wish I could help Paul, but I only use a 360 and PS4 controller. Only thing I could think, make sure blue tooth is enabled and check for any firmware updates.Comment

Arma 3 Apex DLC July 11. Pretty much the only reason why I watched the PC Gamer Show. Everything else is VR related and type of games I don't even like.Comment
