Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
The ASUS Strix OC. My 1070 was also the same model and I was pretty happy with that before selling it for the Ti. From all of the research I did with the Ti, I don't think it matters on the model that you pickup since they all perform pretty much the same give or take a bit more boosted performance with some of the OC models.Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Two factor is a good idea, sounds like you have something on your account Eastern European or Chinese phishers want.Any of y'all had issues with people attempting to hijack your Steam account?
Since yesterday, I've been getting the "Your Steam account: Access from new computer" notices every 20 mins. The email headers, links, etc. are all verified from Valve; however, the "Dear XXXXX," is wrong because it is not the correct ID.
I've run Malwarebytes, HitmanPro, etc. and nothing has been found on my computer. Yet, I'm still getting the emails after I changed my password.
Forgot to mention, all the requests are coming from other countries.
Any thoughts?Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Maybe OS can help, i'm unable to figure it out.
While I was in the states, I downloaded a bunch of my steam games there due to my internet connection at home. I'm trying to transfer a game onto my ssd and not able to make it work.
I tried simply copying and pasting Assassin Creed folder in the common folder but not able to launch it. I also downloaded the game so it can put the local files in then i stop the download and copy and paste the files in the folder and its still a no go.
Any ideas? I tried looking online but i'm obviously missing a step.Comment

You'll need to have multiple libraries (directories where Steam downloads games) registered. By default, Steam will create one under the Steam directory in Program Files. To add another one, go to the Steam menu and then click Settings. In the settings dialog, hit downloads. You should see a "Steam Library Folders" button. Click it and you'll see another dialog showing all of the libraries. You'll likely see just one. Click the add button and find the location where you want games to install (e.g. D:\Games, E:\Steam). Once created, you'll be able to move a game to the new library.
Now, to actually move a game, inside of you Steam client, go to Library. Right-click on the game you want to move and select "Properties". Click on the local files tab. You should see a "Move Install Folder" button. Just select the library you just createdLast edited by sbauer318; 11-30-2017, 11:30 AM.Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Any of y'all have a Steam Link? Any problems using an Xbox One controller with it?
My Xbox One controller will pair, but it won't stay connected for longer than 5 mins. At that point, the controller "looks" like its still connected, but won't do anything. When this happens, the game will keep running and doing whatever the last thing I was doing with the controller was. For example, it happened last night while I was playing Rocket League and I spent the last 20 seconds of the map doing donuts. In order to shut the game down, I have to go get a keyboard.
Any thoughts? I love using the Steam Link, but this resetting every 5-7 mins is getting annoying fast.Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Sounds like a problem I had a while back but it had nothing to do with the link or any PC using steam streaming.
Mine was a steam issue where the controller just stops responding, stays connected but like you, the last input just occurs and the controller is unresponsive. Works for a while then does it again.
Is it ironic that I created a thread about it on the steam forums at the time of the issue (month or two ago) and steam alerted me yesterday about a new comment in my thread? Months after?
Sounds like it is occurring again so it's possible this is what you're experiencing. I can't remember what the solution is until I get home and can check that thread again.

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Was all a steam issue for me so there wasn't much I could do until a fix was released. Maybe a steam update broke it again?
It might not help but here is my thread from when it was occurring for me.

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Sometimes steam will do badly update. Then you have to enter the library, right click on the game and choose "check consistency of files". I have a few times to help me (probably "consistency" word is incorrect, but I just little speak english)Comment
