Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
I was about to finally build one and VTPack (from OS) saw a tweet of mine. We talked and he cut me a deal I couldn't build for the same price range I was in. I ended up buying a PC he built. i5, GTX 1070ti, etc.. it's a really good computer.
I think seeing what he did and being able to look at things in person has helped me really understand that building a PC isn't nearly as complicated as I thought it was. I won't have to build one now and will only have to upgrade down the road, but I think building one is probably a lot of fun. You can definitely get so much more and so much nicer for less than buying a pre-built one.
So fyi... VTPack knows my address and hasn't shown up to murder me yet so he seems like an okay guy.Comment

I just need my CPU and I'm waiting to see the benchmarks on the new Ryzen's coming out.
I'm surprised my wife hasn't killed me yet.Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Y'all have any interest in playing Payday 2? I've had this game for a few years now, but never could find people to play it with. Every time I joined a game, I got kicked out for being "too low level". On the other hand, is single player any good?Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
I started playing payday 2 again, usually with my cousins. You can add me on steam and we can probably get some games running. Single player is harder if you're doing higher difficulties loud, but it's definitely preferred when doing stealth as you're in control.
My steam is mikenoob with a Danny Devito avatar, my profile link should be the same as well

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Building one is definitely fun. I've built 4 over the last year for friends and family and I've learned a lot with each one. I almost want to open mine back up and re do all the cables since it is a mess as my first attempt. If you stick with PC years down the road and are looking to upgrade, you should definitely give it a try. Replace a part or two instead of buying a whole new one.I was about to finally build one and VTPack (from OS) saw a tweet of mine. It seems like a daunting experience when it's your first time, but you'll soon realize it's not hard at all. Also that feeling of your very own built PC booting up successfully is amazing.

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Truly depends on what you enjoy.
Shooters - PUBG, Rainbow Six Siege, or Battlefield 5.
Military Sims - ARMA 3, Squad, Escape from Tarkov are fantastic.
RPG's - Wasteland 2, Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire, and the forever mod-able Skyrim
Action - Sekiro, Assassins Creed Origins/Odyssey, Hitman 2, Destiny 2, Ghost Recon Wildlands and truly to many for me to list
Multiplayer - Rocket League #1, PUBG, League of Legends/Dota 2, CS:GO, Dead by Daylight
Sports/Sims - NBA 2k20 (Sept 6th), PES 2019, Madden 19, Project Cars 2, IL-2: Battle of Stalingrad
Story - Rise/Shadow of the Tomb Raider (Incredible), Resident Evil 2, Spec Ops: The Line, Wolfenstein: New Order/Old Blood
My Picks- PUBG - 1200 hours and counting, love it
- ARMA 3 - Showing what the PC is capable of, in large scale size
- Squad - Glory days of BF3 brought back into 50 vs 50 PVP military fun
- Dead by Daylight - Good Chill multiplayer game and huge plus, no annoying in game voice comms
- Rocket League - I'd put this as my #1 for everyone, its awesome fun, competitive, challenging, and features a huge skill ceiling to get better.
I'm a multiplayer type of gamer, I enjoy competing against others so that tends to be my zone. There is literally an endless library on steam. If you plan on buying something for multiplayer, good tip, go here https://steamspy.com/ to find the game your looking at. Find the CCU Daily of that title and look at what the daily player base is averaging. If it's falling steady don't shell out of it, no point buying something if there is no player base to support it. Good example of this Post Scriptum https://steamspy.com/app/736220, fantastic WW2 PvP Mill-Sim, CCU daily hovering at 500 players. Dead lobbies = games you can't play.
Interested in something, ask away.Last edited by Phobia; 07-17-2019, 10:05 PM.Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
Depends on what games you like to play.
Best looking games:
Assassin's Creed Origins
Assassin's Creed Odyssey
A Plague Tale Innocence
City Builders
Frost Punk
Sim City
Cities Skylines
Dawn of Man
Tropico 6
Surviving Mars
Long games that you can play for months/years
The Sims 4
Civilization 6
Stellaris
Strategy Games
Hearts of Iron 4
Total War Three Kingdoms
Phantom Doctrine
Steel Division 2
If you big into multiplayer
The Division 2
Battlefield 5
Rainbow 6 Siege
Rocket League
Fortnite
Apex Legends
Squad
Sports
NBA 2K19 - Go to NLSC website and learn how to install mods. You will never look at console sports games the same way ever again
Now that should get you started. Of course you going to need game launchers:
Steam
EA Origin
Uplay
GOG Galaxy
Epic Store
They each have their benefits. GOG is good for finding old games. Uplay is for Ubisoft games. EA Origin is definitely worth it if you subscribe to Origin Premiere. Steam is where majority of games are, probably the easiest to navigate out of all the launchers.Comment

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread
GMSS, I stayed away from 2K because I felt like I read nothing but negative **** about it on PC. The mods make the issues irrelevant?
