I've never really understood the reselling of digital games or buying them "used."

Either way, I'd rather have a more open digital market than being controlled by the console's manufacturer. Open up the market so that Amazon and other online retailers can sell digital codes for the big releases. The more free the market is the better the prices will be.

MS wanting to control every aspect of the purchase and storage is what rubbed me the wrong way.

That control had to be there for licensing, just preventing ways to game the system. With all titles (even physical retail) effectively being 'digital', exactly what you said you wanted is what would have happened. MS was going to deploy a system so a retailer could reclaim the license.

Not really a discussion for the PS4 thread though.

You'll never see 30 dollar prices for AAA games on digital at release. The disc manufacturing doesn't cost that much, and devs/publishers need to make money.

You would hopefully see faster sales once games are released, at least that's my hope.

I agree on the used game ideas MS had, just got blown up in the "always online" discussion that digital licenses cause.

There won't be sales on stuff like that.

Those prices on PC have nothing to do with being digital and everything to do with an open marketplace which will never happen on Sony/MS/Nintendo consoles. That's just not how they work. Let's put the notion to rest that going digital like PC will cause those prices.

Personally, (and this isn't just concerning game keys/licenses) I tend to think most consumers reward consumer freedom and don't take advantage. You're always going to have those have take whatever they want, but they'll do that no matter how the system is set up. If something is locked up people are gonna be trying to break the case to get it.

Man, I wish Newegg would get PS4's in stock without having to buy them in a silly overpriced bundle.. Would save me almost $30 over buying it from Amazon or somewhere else that charges me tax.

Sorta OT I guess, but watching this wonderful NCAA tourney makes me really sad that college sports are no longer a reality, especially just as the new gen of consoles launched. What I wouldn't give for a 2K college hoops game or a new NCAA football game on PS4...

GS has a pretty decent trade-in where if you trade in any eligible PS4 game (which it seems to be most major released title on the system) you can buy a new game for $29.99.

Thinking about giving up BF4 for Second Son. Decisions.

If you want to do that, do it at Best Buy. They're giving $40 for BF4, which is $10 better.

I really need to speed through COD: Ghosts single player while the trade-in value is still $34. Never should have opened that damn game in the first place.

OT: I'm going to miss GCU once mine runs out. They want something like 2 years for $120 at Best Buy.

Or if you're putting it towards a new pre order their giving $35 each. Not sure for how long or if there are other exclusions. I traded Fifa and NFS and got $70 for them total. Paid off infamous and MLB (already had $ towards them). But considering I purchased both for $40, thats 1 hell of a deal.

I renewed my GCU membership last August for a year for $15 before the new setup started and they ended up sending me a coupon for two more years of GCU for $30. Now, im a GCU member until the end of August 2016.

Check cheapassgamer.com as they post deals, bargains, sales, etc. all the time. They recently had a GCU two year membership for $60 which isnt bad if you buy at least one game every other month. At worse, you'll even out.

So if I'm new to the gamer's club I can get it for 2 years at 60 bucks? Can you show me where I can do this? I went to the CAG website you guys mentioned and couldn't find anything on it. I also went to the best buy website, and they show gamer's club but no way to sign up, or a price.
