Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Does changing out the hard drive void your extended warranty with Sony? I think I should be good on space for a little while since I delete a lot of games when I'm done with them, but I could see it being a problem down the road. The only reason I haven't done it yet is because of the warranty question and because my PS4 has performed flawlessly up to this point. I almost don't want to mess anything up.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
It doesn't. PS4 like the PS3 was designed for the consumer to upgrade the HDD if they want to. That is why they made it so easy to get to. Practically idiot proof.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
For the guys that have the gold headset do you have any complaints? Any issues with chat volume or mic issues in general? How about sound quality when compared to other turtle beach surround sound headsets?Comment

I love my gold headset.
I'm no expert, but it's by far the best headset I had in that price range.Khalabeeb - Tony Henderson

The bass could be better, but other then that, for $69.99, it is a steal.Comment

Nah, as I've and a few others said, only issue is the bass isn't great. Sounds great otherwise on PS4 and PC. Voice chat is clear and so is my mic"Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I still prefer discs, but there's also one other advantage of digital games: more Remote Play options.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
For new release games, buying via digital download is a total and complete rip off and a waste of money because if it's one and done, a disappointment or simply total crap, you just wasted $60 which could have been spent on the actual retail disc instead and then traded it in for $40 to put towards another game you want. Not only do you only lose $20 but you can also add $20 to the $40 credit which totals $60 that can be put towards another new release game. Total loss would be $40 instead of $60 and two games played instead of one. Can do this again and the loss would be $60 but with three games played.
Doesnt matter if its psn cards, a credit card or via paypal, buying a game via digital download is a waste of money. Even if you want to replay a game a year later and have to buy the game again, it still wont total the $60 loss of a digital download.
Older games that you want to play, have DLC that you need/must/want to play or are long enough to warrant a digital download purchase is good value since the trade in value is a few dollars at most.
For Xbox 360, I have purchased six retail games via digital download with the main reason being that there's DLC I want to play and dont like having DLC on my hard drive without the game. Six games are GTA IV for $5, RDR for $7.50, RE 5 for $5-$10 (dont remember exact price but wasnt more than $10), Sleeping Dogs for $35 (only game I bought via dd that was more than $20) and Splinter Cell Conviction for $20. Literally bought and downloaded Assassin's Creed II a few hours ago for $20 and both sequence DLC's for $11.
Only RDR, SD and SCC were purchased at launch for $60 on disc and traded in. Even doing that and rebuying later on still cost me less than buying a new release for $60 via digital download. Like a lot of gamers, I get the urge to replay games but when that happens, its when the game is $20 or less. Sleeping Dogs is the lone exception. Perfect example is Far Cry 3. Retail disc is $20 but trade in value is a few dollars maximum. Since I want to buy the deluxe bundle DLC, im going to buy the game via digital download for $20. Even buying at launch for $60, trading it in for $40 and now rebuying for $20, I still save $20 compared to buying for $60 at launch via digital download.
With Best Buy's GCU membership (which I highly recommend), im saving a lot of money. Perfect example, Watch Dogs cost me $48 plus tax. A month and over 50 hours later, I traded it in for $44.80 to Best Buy. Rounding up the tax to $5 for a total of $53, I only spent $8.20 for a new release. Compared to digital download, I saved $44.80. And that $44.80 was used today on $40 xbox 360 currency cards which allowed me to buy AC II with the two sequence DLC's. In the end, I played and finished Watch Dogs and will now play AC II which I have never played.
I'm a huge Ubisoft fan as they're my favorite developer and publisher and my go to company. Purchased Watch Dogs and was going to buy the season pass for it but im happy I didnt. Good game overall (8.5/10, was a 9/10 but I lowered the score) but once was honestly enough. This reason more than money is why I dont have any interest in buying a new release game via digital download. Money wise, I would have spent $108.00. $48 for the game, $20 for the season pass and $40 for the xbox 360 currency cards. $108.00 vs $8.20. Which amount would you rather spend?
Bottom line - buying a new release game via digital download is a huge rip off and a waste of money in my opinion.
And on a related side note, buying a new release game via digital download will lead to digital download only consoles which in my opinion will result in the industry crashing and here's why - to play the game you want will always cost the consumer $60 and the price will never be reduced because without any other option to play that new release game, there's no reason for publishers to ever lower the price. Simply, it would become, pay $60 or dont play the game.
P.S. - Sorry for the long post.Comment
