Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
If it can play 4K Bluray, I'd definitely get the updated system. I just got a 4K tv a month or so ago and was looking at getting the only 4K Bluray player that's on the market right now. That's $399, so if the updated PS4 is that price or even close to it, I'd be in.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I only read part of this but with it saying something about 4k for games I am wondering if this is really more of just like a ps5 thing for a few years from now.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Yeah I don't see 4k games happening in till ps5 but I could see a upgrade to were you could watch 4k movies on ps4 but not with ps4.5 just a system update. I think sony is smart enough and has shown they are not stupid enough to do something like a 4.5.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Maybe they're anxious to take advantage of the name 'PS4K'... [emoji3]
On the VR front, I'm not all that interested in it, but I hope it does well. I do already have the camera and Move controllers though, and I'll definitely try it out if the opportunity presents itself.

PlayStation 4 Discussion
So I jumped back on board the PS4 after getting rid of it a couple months back. I've never been one to own both consoles at one time but this gen it's well worth owning both consoles for me. Seeing everything for uncharted 4 didn't help and of course The Show.

PlayStation 4 Discussion
I couldn't care less about a ps4.5 so long as I can play every current gen game on my current ps4. I'm all for options so long as they aren't forced options.
Once PlayStation releases a game I want, that requires ps4.5, then they will have lost me.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
While if they really do this it will be like the first time a console as done a update system out of just systems updates and slim systems I mean. So that would be something new and more of like a PC thing so that is why I don't see that happing. So I think that would turn people off. That is like the point of a console not having to upgrade or any thing in till the next one. At the same time even though I don't have a 4k tv yet considering I tend to have bad luck with systems breaking had 1 ps3 break and 2 gamecube's and a 3erd all most breaking, and also trouble with my wii from day one even though it works maybe it would be good to buy one for a back up for when my ps4 most likely dies at some point in time lol.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I believe both Sony and Microsoft will jump in. Not sure what Nintendo will do. It's foolish and negligible to avoid new technology, especially tech giants like Sony and Microsoft. It would be like them saying in the 80's why should we make DVDs/CDs when we already have VHS, cassettes, or 8-tracks out in the market!?!
Its a choice. If you want to play VR, you buy it. You want 4k and all the bells and whistles with it? You buy a 4K TV and an upgraded system.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Can't be done. It's a total new GPU to make it play at 4k resolution, or consistent 60 fps, or eliminate the external processing power of the VR bundle.
Unbelievable but true. I'm sure prices will come down like all other new techs, but a good blueray-4k DVD player with built in HIFI is $400!
If a gaming dev is already going to develop for the PC, I'm sure they can port over to the PS4.5 or the new xbox1 upgrades with all the usual expenses they've done so in the past. Now, they have digital releases to lessen the burden of expenses.

I'm not talking about the actual cost of development. I'm talking about the price of the GPU and other components.Comment
