Nice! Thanks for the screens EG. Looks more polished/sleek. I especially like the library options now, and the PS/Share button menus do not cover the entire screen.

Hopefully they add a pinning option (a way to have your main list the order you want as an option instead of order played). Like Netflix or Android TV app organization.

There's also a rumor that PS4's 2-Step Security Verification will be rolling out to Australia and New Zealand this week, with the rest of the regions to follow next week. We probably will hear more about it at Gamescom Thursday.

Looks much better, I've never liked the PS4's UI very much. It always felt lifeless to me but this should give it some nice upgrades.

Hmm, I was just thinking in my head that the quick menu lacked the time on it. I also assume the notifications include when people sign on/off. Maybe they will also address disabling notifications when using Vue.

Wonder how the new UI will look with regard to having our own background image. I'm pretty excited for it, though I got kind of used to my MLB The Show SF Giants theme. Perhaps I will make an Interstellar background instead.

My true hope is they would do something with Vita remote play so that we could not only adjust what kind of touch functionality control scheme we want, but that when we do controller configurations we could map touch "buttons" as well as normal buttons. Currently having issues with No Man's Sky where I have to shoot by pressing the top right corner of the screen (can't aim when doing that). Also an issue when driving. That's not the only game with issues/lack of developer concern, though.

EDIT: Nevermind, didn't see the new page with the shots. The half-screen thing is not as elegant as I thought they could have gone for a quick menu, but it's still much better than leaving the game entirely.

Cool ! Maybe it coincides with the bro release ?

The folders will be a nice way to organize the games. I hope the folders can be pinned to stay at the front of the list.

I agree I'd love to change my name as my psn name is based off my vita name & at that time I didn't have anything better to come up with like I do now..

Hopefully that's something they will add in a system software update in the future...

PSN is just about the only profile interface in existence where one can't change their username. So stupid.

It's sad that you're probably right.

PSN is just about the only profile interface in existence where one can't change their username. So stupid.

Maybe they can do something like Steam, have your core PSN name, then choose a 'Nickname', and have the Nickname work for all to see, and hide the PSN core name? If they never migrate the OG backend setup. They allow it on Japan PSN don't they?

I personally doubt it (but you never know). Someone found FCC filings recently for a 5Ghz WiFi chip Sony is making, and somehow, the weird and odd internet jumped to a Vita 2 conclusion... and NOT the obvious 5Gz wireless upgrade in the Neo and possible future PS4 models.

I don't think you can say never now that SCE is SIE (Sony Interactive Entertainment). Remember, this past April the R&D and Networking is now part of the total family and is based in the US. I think we're seeing some of the new changes they're putting in. Not saying Japan didn't know what they were doing, but much of the "old philosophy" is changing.

Also didn't see this coming, Quantic Dream's thriller Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered is now available in the PS Store for $14.99. If you haven't played it, It's highly recommended.

There are 2 things I really would like to see Sony do when it comes to updates.
1. When you are backing up game saves onto a USB drive you have to pick each game and each final one by one to make the save. On ps3 you could pick ever final and then go do something for like a hour or so while the finals are saved.
2. Being able to make backgrounds wall paper and themes. On ps3 there are some great themes that people made and I would like to have some of those on ps4.
