Yeah I think they will increase the power but with out increase it to much that they have to charge to much for it. The Scorpio was 2 times as powerful as the NEO if the NEO leaked Specs are true right? Could they maybe increase the specs to where it is not as powerful as the Scorpio but like in the middle between the leaked stuff and the Scorpio? So kind of like a 50% increase?

Read that last night on neogaf. If Sony increases the specs, it will be a minimal bump. If Neo releases in October/November, then I believe that the rumored leaked specs from March will most likely be accurate. Final dev kits in September doesn't give Sony a lot of time to upgrade the Neo from what it's already been set at.
I'm just waiting for Neo to release and see comparison videos by digital foundry for games as that's what will determine if my interest increases or decreases for it.Comment

Honestly I think none of us know for sure yet, just got to wait and see what is officially released by Sony.Last edited by The JareBear; 08-09-2016, 01:53 PM."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
From what I understand the Scorpio is supposed to be 6 TF and the base NEO rumor spec was 4.2, but I read another rumor that the NEO could be as high as 5.5. It seems like at least somebody, internalized, expressed concern that the NEO could pale in comparison to Scorpio so who knows what they end up going with

The talk of two different tiered specs they were deciding on came out in March, long before Scorpio was even an announced thing. Companies will always keep competition in their radar, but the 'fear' thing just seems unsubstantiated. There were a couple of 'insiders' saying bull**** to it in the thread as well.
I am excited for September 7th though, no doubt.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Oh I didn't hear about the 5.5 TF thing but yeah I was thinking Sony could maybe go in the middle of those rumor specs and the Scorpio so like 5.1 or something but I also don't know a lot about tech and I am not sure how much that would cost. I think Sony is going to want to make sure that the NEO is at most 450 and coming out around a year before Scorpio if it is this year means things are going to cost a little more then if they did the same think but next year. I think if they could be in the middle between those rumor specs and where Scorpio is so like 5.1 TF but out a year sooner and maybe a little cheaper that would be a really good position for Sony to be in.Comment

I think it is all bull**** to generate clicks, since this is the third time this has come up, and people are getting tired of the argument. At least how it was worded anyways.

Yeah I don't buy that Sony is scared of the Scorpio or any thing. Sony dominated during ps1, ps2 and this gen so far and while they made a lot of mistakes last gen they still ended up slightly in 2nd place. Sony has much better games then Microsoft and are much more liked then Microsoft to. How ever after last gen and not dominating I think Sony knows they need to respect the competition and want to stay on top and not have something like last gen happened again. Companies are always going to have ideas about things they may want to do even if they end up not doing them. I am sure when Sony first started thinking about the NEO they had different ideas on how much stronger it should be then the regular ps4 and an idea on how much it would cost depending on the power increase. They may have started thinking we should do 4.2 TF and then maybe started thinking well we could maybe increase that a little bit with out the price really going up much or something like that.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
More interested in the philosophy proposed with the announcement than the hardware. If they're going to embrace the end of traditional console generations, end software resets, etc.
That's the war, Neo and Scorpio are just two battles in it.

http://www.businessinsider.com/sony-announces-september-event-for-playstation-4-successor-neo-2016-8The Neo is expected to play all the current PlayStation 4 games out there, but offer more horsepower for better graphics and frame rates.
Looks like the rumors were true. Four weeks from tomorrow.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Agreed. Every 3-4 years, one large ecosystem, backwards compatibility with timed forward compatibility, moving with the tech revisions to take advantage of cheaper prices for more power, less hard reset risks, hmmm... what else does that sound like in which we were used to?

If this is the thing now I am done getting systems day 1. I would rather want and get the ps5.5 thing or what ever then the day one ps5. I would rather want and get a more powerful system for around the same price and with more games to play then getting a day 1 system with less games and less power for like the same price.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I'll just buy the systems and the upgraded versions as they release. Lol. Just like I do with the iPhone upgrade program. New phone every year and never behind in the tech.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
So the day the NEO is going to be shown I have college in till like 3:30 and the next day I have work and a church group to. Also that next day is the start of NFL season. So with school, church group and start of the NFL season and trying to get my home work done right away so it is done it may be hard to have time to watch the NEO stuff on the 7th.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I knew TGS was not going to be a thing. You do not unveil an upgraded premium system in a market that only bought 3 million consoles, versus one that bought 12 million or so.
I am both excited and tempered at the same time for this. If that makes sense.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment
