Regardless of when it comes out, I will wait a year or so buy the PS5. I want a collection of games to be out before I decide to buy the console. Most likely console exclusive games out at release.

Sony Interactive Entertainment deputy president Jim Ryan will be appointed to President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment effective April 1st. Current President and CEO John Kodera will take on Jim Ryan's soon to be former role as deputy president and dedicate his focus on creating innovative user experiences and further enhancing the network area.

I for one am very happy with this personnel move. Ryan has been with Sony since 1994 and is responsible for making PlayStation 4 extremely popular in Europe. This move allows Kodera to focus on his personal strengths and allow Ryan to focus more on his.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Especially if they come up with an upgraded graphics like 8K or something with a Pro version. Than you pretty much need a newer television to go with that. I just bought my current TV a year ago. So I'm satisfied with it for a few years. I didn't even planned on getting the Pro. I got it as a gift from my girlfriend. I can definitely tell the difference when I move my pro to a different TV.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I am wondering if we will even get a pro version next gen or not. This gen that was the first time that happend and I think the only reason we may have got that is because of 4k and I think 8k may be to far off for even a pro version and may be more like a ps6 and what ever comes after the next xbox type of thing.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Most likely will do that. I think I bought my first PS4 a year after the release. But that was because my PS3 had issues. I might wait a few years. By then I should have a good stable of games and not that much free time to devote to a new console right away.

I own a Slim, bought it on a Black Friday deal two years or so ago. With a PC no real desire for a pro, but I'd rather wait till they get their manufacturing down unless there is something I really have to play. Went through enough of that with the 360, where I had to RMA it four times to MS due to RROD.

As long as MS and Sony like money, I'd imagine they'd try it again.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Really debating on grabbing a PS4 and The Show this year.... really feeling a baseball itch. It's been a couple years since I swapped my PS4 for the Xbox. I mainly game on PC but like the consoles for sports games/exclusives.
Anyway, I'm trying to go the cheapest route possible. I'd assume most would recommend a Slim at the least, but any reason not to just grab the OG 500gb if I can find one?

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Why is everyone so excited about a new console anyways?
Spending hundreds of dollars for marginal improvements seems to be everyone's thing now when we should be expecting more from what we have. I have a ridiculous backlog of PS4 games I may never even get to and I feel like the console still has a lot of life left.
I haven't even been reading most of the posts because it's serious TLDR content.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
True. The talk won't fade away especially once legitimate leaks and rumors start emerging. Personally, im super hyped for 2019 and 2020 for the current generation but at the same time, im equally hyped for next gen. The funny thing is that with the exception of PS4 Pro (which in a way doesn't really count), I have never purchased any console at launch. Excited to see if Sony and/or Microsoft can change that for me.Comment
