Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
That is not going to happen folks. Sony rather have nails stuck to their eye lids then have devs make games at 1080p 60fps when they touted the machine as a 4K console...How will it look if many games start coming out with native 1080p resolution just upscaled by the internal upscaler...TV's that are 4K already do that without having to buy a PRO...
Devs will have to fix the issue going forward but making 1080p 60fps as the standard will never happen... Not after what they advertised
I love ya(mainly cuz i think you solved the madden grass issue on PS3 back awhile LOL)
but man you're a party pooper on our placebo 1080p ps4 pro's!!!!!!
that said i played nba 2k17 on a 1080p tv with the pro
and compared it to my xbox one s digital version
ps4 pro is cleaner and smoother
xbox one s has shimmering jerseys ps4 pro does notBrand New Tomba Slider sets ready for Next Gen Versions of NBA,Madden and Fifa Stay Tuned...Comment

Exactly. Forcing one option is stupid. Sony mentioned competition from PCs as a reason why they created the Pro. The PC platform gives you options. Sony should recommend giving users the option not forcing a higher resolution just so they can check a box in their marketing campaign.Comment

2 things...I do not want to burst your bubble but do you rather hear the truth about how the console works or just have someone sell or trade their ps4 thinking they are getting a great upgrade and then fine out they are disappointed? If you are planning to get a 4K tv in the next few months to a half a year or so then is a great buy.
In terms of NBA 2K 17 it already looked better on ps4 vs xbox one s in terms of AA. And the game on ps4 renders internally at native 4K so it downsamples to a 1080p tv nicely compared to xbox one s so it will look better. But that is one game that universally released a 4K update.Comment

Yes FIFA is patched for PRO already...It is a 4k resolution bump but that is it...Looks great in action but not so much in cutscenesComment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
1080p mode for the Pro has already demonstrated "great upgrades" in numerous games. It's not on the same level as 4k displays but is much better than you give credit for. You act like you know everything and don't give anyone else room to breathe with any viewpoint that differs from yours.

First things first: if you don't have a display capable of 4K resolutions and/or high-dynamic range colors (or a PSVR headset—see below), you should probably put off even considering a PS4 Pro purchase until you get one. While users with standard HDTVs (1080p or lower) can get some benefit from the PS4 Pro's additional horsepower, the difference is so marginal that it's not worth the investment.
On a standard HDTV, the PS4 Pro's extra horsepower sometimes means improving from a lower resolution (often around 900 vertical lines of resolution) to "true" 1080p high-def. For other games, the extra horsepower is used for supersampling, which renders a game at an internal resolution higher than that on the display, then uses that extra pixel data to smooth out lines and edges through improved anti-aliasing.
In both cases, the difference is slight enough that it's hard to make out under normal viewing conditions on a 1080p screen. Yes, if you get right up to the TV and look for the stairstep patterns on diagonal edges, you'll see some difference between the two consoles. If you're just playing the game from a few feet away, though, you're unlikely to notice much of anything has changed.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Not all games can just increase the framerate, most Bethesda games for example I believe physics are tied to framerate, and in other engines the passage of time in the game world is tied to framerate. It's often a more complex problem than being able to just draw the scene faster with better hardware.Comment

Let's be honest though. That was considered bad practice years ago. It's 2016. They need to move on from physics being tied to frame rate.
I get that it's more work especially when it comes to poor physics implementations and animation engines, but 30 fps just isn't acceptable for most games.
Fallout 4 runs at 60 fps on PC as does Dishonored. They can figure it out moving forward. If they don't want to invest the time for older titles, I can understand that, but going forward, there shouldn't be any excuses.Last edited by sbauer318; 11-11-2016, 01:20 PM.Comment
