    Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

So I can that the slim is better at internet speeds like 25% faster or something. When I got a 2 TB hard drive on my ps4 it took about 48 hours for my system to finish downloading ever thing meaning 14 games and dlc for batman Arkham knight and drive clube that I had on the system before I changed hard drives. With the slim my slim is just about done downloading all my games and dlc and it has took about 36 hours and that is with 16 games 2 more games has I didn't have TLG and Uncharted 4 on my old ps4 at first when I changed hard drives and with the soundtrack that comes with the collectors edition of the game. So it took about 12 less hours on slim to download ever thing then it did on ps4 regular even with 2 more games and a soundtrack.

Yeah it gets annoying having to spend extra money on things because they are breaking. If I didn't have those issues I could like have spent the money I spent getting new ones or getting things fixed on ps5 and ps6 lol. MY SNES is mostly good though lol. My SNES now the power cable doesn't want to stay in the system in less you have your figure on it pushing at a angle. I am going to have to try to tap it or something.

I now have access to 5 GHZ on the PS4 and based on my own experience the hard wired speeds are faster. I'm actually having ISP issues at my apartment which the ISP stated actually was an issue so I'm not getting optimal UL speeds. With the Pro I might be able to game online normally despite the current issues.

I can't agree with it being louder although I'm only one day in. My old PS4 was actually much louder. So in my experience it doesn't hold true.

And yep you son's of B's got me to take the plunge. It was almost out of pure boredom yesterday. Now a happy ks8000/pro combo owner.
The Slim has the same Internet card in it. It's much faster than my OG.

I feel like I'm the only person that still has the original PS4. Everyone else seems to have either upgraded to the Slim or the Pro.

I'm right there with you. There's no reason to have upgraded at this point, unless you need multiple ps4s.

I am however considering getting a slim and giving my current ps4 to my little sister.

I have a vanilla PS4. 4K TV or not, my big push for getting the Pro would have been a UHD BD player.

My Slim is the quietest of the 3, but my Pro is much more quiet than my vanilla was towards the end when I got rid of it.

My vanilla PS4 was pretty quiet, but the Pro is even quieter for me.

My only small issue with the Pro is the icons on my dashboard take a split second to hit full resolution sometimes, but that may be a 4K thing.

Yeah I hear you about the pro and the UHD player and its not like you have to get a pro just because you have a 4k tv. I have a tv that is 18 inches bigger then my old tv and being that I get the full 1080p where my old tv was 720p upscale 1080 I am getting more out of my ps4 and my bluray movies then before plus with getting a 4k player even the bluray's I have I can watch in upscale 4k compared to my old tv and bluray and upscale 720. The whole pro not having a UHD player I think cost Sony some sales and could end up being even the difference between ps4 passing ps2 sales or not. I almost wanted to just want and not get a 4k player and see if ps5 ends up having a 4k player. When it comes to how much noise ps4 regular makes I never understood the jet engine thing. I found the ps4 didn't make that much noise and regular ps3 was much worse last gen compared to regular ps4 when it comes to noise.

So because of those things about getting the full best out of player and having a bigger tv and also getting more out of games to that are 1080p I think getting a 4k tv with out the pro was still worth it. So I had a few choices to make. Either I could have gotten a newer bigger 1080p tv and paid less but then in a few years have to get another tv so I can do 4k when ps5 comes out and so I can do 4k movies. Or do what I did instead which was get the 4k tv now and be ready for ps5 in a few years and be a little more future proof and also be able to enjoy 4k movies right now while I want for ps5. I would then go threw 2 TV's in a shorter time then just getting a 4k tv now. So even though the 4k tv would be less in a few years with paying for a 1080p tv on top of that would I really save that much money?
