Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
The cable transfer is quickest but I couldn't be bothered to go that way,I cloud saved my game save data & reinstalled all my games over a few days.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
There's no real quick way other than getting an external hard disk and doing a backup and then restore, but the "easy" way is to connect both to your router and/or with an ethernet and do a transfer. But mine (which was 850gb) took about 16 hours to do a full transfer so it certainly was not quick.
Once you're done yes, you can use both the same as before as it doesn't wipe the old system or anything.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

Nope, just the Pro, the other all you have to do is turn it on and then at some point push the power button for a second.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

It'd be maybe worth a shot. I didn't even think about it until I'd already started and by then I didn't want to interrupt it.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Doing it the "official way" means that when you boot up your PS4 Pro it will look and act EXACTLY the same as your PS4.
Example: when I booted up my PS4 Pro after doing the transfer even my theme was the exact same as on my PS4, my audio, video, everything else setup exactly the same. Nothing, absolutely nothing else had to be done by me and it was really awesome IMO
Not a huge deal to some but to me it's better since like you don't have to "oh well let me just go do this" and then a few minutes later "oh crap, I forgot I need this app, let me go download that and install it real quick" and you are doing that constantly for like a few days until everything is back to the way it was.
The official was was designed by Sony to make the process as smooth and painless as possible and once you're done you're really done for good..and I for one freakin' love itStreaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Yes, while you can just not choose to go online the point is resources are being utilized for multiplayer and, in some games that actually utilize both modes, we are seeing them drop the single player experience and/or campaign altogether because publishers think that it is enough if they just provide a game with multiplayer.
Battlefront series for example was once both online and single player but in recent history, in the case of Star Wars Battlefront, they didn't have single player at all in the game. Thankfully they realized this was an issue for folks and in the next Battlefront Star Wars will once again have both.
I enjoy both but a good single player experience with story and campaign is still something the industry needs to produce.
Again, not every single game needs some tacked on multiplayer.
I even had a thread about this on here about how folks in general don't want to be as social as the industry thinks we want to be.
Social, online gaming is awesome, I love it but I feel I speak for many when I also enjoy the solitude of gaming without having to speak to, or interact with someone constantly. Hell even when I game with folks I am aware of having to pause for 10 minutes to put the dog out or something. Gaming on its own, just by yourself is still a great experience for many of us, in fact probably the majority of people, especially considering how awful some folks act online.
Yeah man. I get all this. It's not really what I'm saying though. I just think hoping/wanting a game to have just single player and actually getting disappointed when it does have online is kinda silly. Just don't play it. I'm not trying to say I don't like playing single player campaigns here. I'm also not trying to say say every game needs it. I actually prefer single player too and I had no interest in battlefront because of what you just said. I can't think of any games I have played where I thought the inclusion of multiplayer hurt the single player aspect.Comment

Yeah and I know where you're coming from as well. Sort of reminds me of people getting mad a TV show goes on too long in their opinion when they can just not choose to watch rather than having the folks who actually enjoy it it be without it

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
So I have not been able to find a comparison of how many ps4 have been sold compared to ps2 at the same time period but I did hear that ps4 has sold in 37 months 400000 less then ps2 did in 39 months and of course we know in the next 2 months it will sale more then that. So it is still ahead of ps2 pace but not by that much. Ps1 sold about 102, and ps2 about 155m being the most all time for a system and I wonder if ps4 can pass that. I am starting to think ps4 may end up being like in the middle of those 2 at like 128 or something by the time things are all said and done.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
PS2 came out before Xbox and Wii. Also, PS4 isn't as big in Japan... or at least in the sense that you'll have some people in Japan are still playing PS2, PS3 and Vita.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
