I used Game Mode for a while with a KS5800 but always felt like the picture was washed a bit. Yellow in particular looked dull. I went back to regular mode and don’t notice a lag spike. I do just fine playing BF1 online.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
HDR Game mode is really dull on my LG. Standard HDR looks good but there’s definitely lag, especially with a game like The Show. So I turn HDR off.
With HDR off, Game mode looks just as good as Standard with very little lag. And HDR doesn’t make much difference on my TV.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Well, I was at Gamestop, had the Glacier White PS4 Pro on the counter ready to pay and I backed out. I just can't justify spending over $400 for a console that requires me to purchase a new TV and, while may look and play better, plays the same games that my current PS4 is playing.
As someone who is trying to build back up his retro video game collection, that $400 plus will go a long way to rebuilding my collection.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I was in a reverse situation because on Black Friday 2016 I got my 4k set, which then set me on the upgrade itch for the Pro over the standard ps4 I already had which looked great.
But after I fired up the Pro I was VERY happy.
Now, I find myself contemplating the X as an upgrade over my One S so I can play the best versions of games, especially the fall games going forward.
If I knew for a fact Sony was bringing the Ps5 by 2019 I'd just wait, but I seriously doubt that. We'll see if they say anything this spring.

I get where you’re at, I don’t have a 4K monitor (play my games on a gaming monitor rather than a TV) and I have a Pro and still notice a significant difference with games on it when compared to my old PS4.
That white Pro is calling my name too, I think I’ll be buying it soon so that I can have one upstairs and one downstairs. I’m a sucker for any system that is sleek and white, I just bought a new 2DS XL in the orange and white color haha.
Good luck with your retro games collection, luckily I still have my old PS2 and PS3 because my younger siblings were playing it at the time.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
So this probably falls under the "too good to be true" column but I just got an email from Gamestop that says "Get up to an extra $350 credit when you trade systems toward a new PS4 Pro" and includes a table listing Xbox One X at $350 (which would align with the headline) and a Playstation 4 at $200.
Now, if I read that, I think that I get $200 on top of the normal trade value for a PS4 ($130 for mine). Which means it would cost me about $70 to upgrade to Pro and I'd be fine spending that.
HOWEVER, when I look on the trade-in page, the deal is listed as "Get up to $350 credit..." (no "an extra" in there). Which would mean that I just get the $200 and an upgrade costs me $200...which I'm not ok spending unless I had a 4K TV to go with it.
Before I go through unhooking everything and get super excited about it, does anyone have any experience with this?PSN: JWGoNDComment

Also, if the PS4 traded for $200 and you decided to trade 2 ($200 + $200 = $400), only $350 of that $400 could be applied towards the purchase of the PS4 Pro.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I have a OG PS4, I would only get $150 trade in.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
The way I understand it, you can get up to $350 in trade in credit towards a PS4 Pro when trading in the specified systems. There is nothing extra given towards to the trade in price. If a PS4 trades for $200 then $200 is all you're going to get.
Also, if the PS4 traded for $200 and you decided to trade 2 ($200 + $200 = $400), only $350 of that $400 could be applied towards the purchase of the PS4 Pro.
In the end, no loss on my end other than the opportunity to upgrade cheap. I'm fine with what I've got.PSN: JWGoNDComment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Yeah, this is pretty much what I figured but the "extra" part of the email is misleading to me. They aren't giving me $200 extra...it's only $70 extra. In no situation (even with a Xbox One X) are they giving an "extra" $350. They're just bumping up whatever the regular trade-in value to that amount.

So I called them right away... And then came away disappointed.Milwaukee Brewers | Green Bay Packers | North Carolina Tar Heels | Wisconsin BadgersComment
