Actually, the limits of the current PS console for VR speaks very differently to this. Even though its commendable with what they have given us with the current technology, many games are not able to come over to PS VR because of its limits. You can bank that many future VR games that will be announced for PSVR 2, may not come over to PSVR 1 because of these limitations.

Lol.....I also want more options. I would love to fly in VR with Microsoft's Flight Simulator who is also realizing what the potential of this game could be in VR. But will the next Xbox be VR compatible? According to Microsoft, they've already made their decision for us.

So i could see something like this. Ghost of Tsushima September on ps4 and then it gets a patch for ps5 so you can play it in full 4k a few months later when ps5 comes out or maybe it comes out same time has ps5 and ps4 version is 1080p and ps5 patch makes it 4k. Then i could see ratchet and clank at launch, Feb/March 2021 Horizon Zero dawn 2, September 2021 spiderman.

I think in early 2020 when ps5 is shown that we will get something shown for Horizon zero dawn 2 even if its just a small teaser. During e3 i think we will get a spiderman 2 trailer. If spiderman 2 were to come out in say november 2021 it would be about 3 years and 2 months old. If Horizon zero dawn to comes out at launch of ps5 it will already be 3 years and 7-8 months. So i dont really see how Horizon zero dawn 2 at launch is to soon if late 2021 for spiderman 2 is not to soon when Horizon will have had more time then spiderman if those things were to happen.

You do make a good point about Ghost and Horizon coming out at the same time though but i also think Horizon zero dawn 2 is a much bigger sale because of the fact it is a ps5 only game. I don't considered cross gen games to be much of a reason to get a new consoles. But yeah because of Ghost i could see Horizon being a early 2021 game instead of launch 2020 to give Ghost like 5 months or so by its self so to speak.

If we get Horizon or ratchet and clank at launch i am day 1. If we get neither i may wait would depend on if there is like any big surprised exclusive that looks amazing or not, and like what early 2021 might look like. I got a switch on day 1 and it had BOTW sure but so did wii u but it was the fact that Splatoon was only like 3-4 months after launch that made me go ok i will get it day 1. Ghost looks amazing but i may just get it on ps4 and wait for ps5 if Horizon or ratchet and clank is not at launch or close to it

Guerrilla also worked on The Frozen Wilds expansion which released on November 7th, 2017 and was helping Kojima with Death Stranding so while im sure Horizon 2 was already in pre-production, I don't think the game entered full production until early 2018 so you would be looking at 2 1/2 years at most before testing, optimizing, etc. God of War for example was literally finished in September 2017 but didn't release for another 8 months because of all the tuning, optimizing, testing, etc. that they do once the game's actual development is completed.

I agree in regards to Tsushima being September 2020 but if there's a day one patch for PS5 to get it to Native 4K, etc., then honestly, I would prefer them to wait the two extra months and release it as a cross-gen title so I can play it day one on PS5. I do believe that Ratchet 2 is all but guaranteed to be a PS5 launch title. Spider Man September 2021 would be 3 years after the first game and I just don't see it. Sony almost never rushes out their games and while Insomniac is excellent, being owned by Sony now, things change because they will get more time, money and resources to make the game even better as opposed to Insomniac being under a contract for the game.

I'm expecting Horizon 2 to be revealed at their PS5 reveal (if they hold one) or at E3 2020 but im not expecting to see Spider Man 2 until E3 2021 at the earliest. Sony does like spreading out their exclusives and I see them being more patient in regards to when they show them.

In regards to Horizon 2 vs Tsushima being a PS5 launch title. It's not just about launch though for Tsushima because it's going to be a franchise and the sequel would be in the second half of PS5's life cycle so having the game next to Horizon 2 is going to hurt it overall and that wouldn't be a good thing. Plus, Horizon is more established since it would be a sequel compared to the first game of a new IP which is a bigger risk so ideally, you keep the more established game away from the new IP so the new IP has every chance to succeed.

As of now, im day one for PlayStation 5 but I am hoping Tsushima is a launch title for PS5 because that would be my number one game. Ratchet 2 would be great but it wouldn't be my number one game.

It will be on PC, which is part of the accessibility of the ecosystem. Looking forward to trying it in VR when it's inevitably available

Little doubt the exclusivity will extend to VR as well, regardless of requirements or complexity. More power the better the experience given the demands of VR, absolutely.

Looks like other platforms are getting MLB The Show in 2021 as it's no longer a PlayStation exclusive. More details to be announced at a later date. But it definitely looks like it's going to next gen Xbox, possibly PC and maybe even Switch.

Also, Final Fantasy VII Remake's cover has been updated to reflect it being a one year timed exclusive.

As a pc owner the fact that xbox games are on pc and now sony is moving in that direction means that the days of playing inferior versions of games are going away.

God the thought of 4k max settings at 60+fps for the show gsync has me shaking

Good info and showing for the last of the year SoP. SpellBreak looks interesting, RE3 remake looks really good, Paper Beast VR looks amazing, and Ghost of Tsushima looks bad-***.

I thought State of play was pretty good. Finally got a update on GOT, got a release date for dreams not my type of game but still, and babylon's fall a game I had not heard of before but I guess was announced at e3 2018 looks pretty good in its first game play. With GOT getting more at game awards if batman can finally be announced and if Nintendo shows any thing for BOTW 2 then this week with game awards will be perfect.

Interesting little piece of hardware coming in January.

Elevate your game by adding two customizable buttons to the back of your DualShock 4. Out January 23.

Can this map to an "L4/R4" for games, or does this have to already be a pre-existing button/command?

Looks like you can only map the buttons that are already on the controller.

Pretty sure you can only map to an existing button. It works out well for some games that have internal button remapping of their own. I know the Strike Pack adapter allows you to map to swiping directions and pressing the touch pad.

I used one for a bit with Battlefield and I would map some things to swipe functions in the game and then assign paddle buttons as that and get extra buttons out of, but most games don't allow many options.

It's a neat piece of tech and it's reasonably priced because a Strike Pack sold at the store is $35-40 and you have to stay hard wired. I wonder about battery life the most.

Plugged in a sea gate 2TB external and moved some games over to open up some space. I have a PS4 Pro, will games load quicker on the external? I kept the game’s I am playing more on internal and moved some other game’s not played as often on external. I don’t know the exact drive but it’s a few years old. Thanks.

I don’t know if you would notice a difference either way. I think some tests have shown the external can be a bit faster for some reason but I wouldn’t worry about it.
