I know what he means...but installing a GPS chip for security is adding at least $100 dollars to the cost and it's ONLY use would be security.

You can get the Slomin's Shield for 30 bucks a month and protect all your possessions!

What I'm trying to say is...it's not practical to put a GPS tracking device into a unit that's not mobile or really that expensive.

Yep, like I said I'm not savy with computer parts/prices, so that makes sense. At a certain point you just have to enjoy what you have and hope people are decent enough not to ruin it.

        Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

Going back to digitally downloaded games, the big problem I see here is that with physical copies of games, I can at least sell them along with my PS3 if/when I decide to do so. Can I do that, at this point in time, with PSN purchases? No. The fact that they're on your account, their records, etc. and Sony is basically saying all that money you spent on PSN will go to waste unless you keep your PS3 is BS. That is completely unacceptable and all gamers/consumers should be miffed about that.

Simply put, whether it's Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, Steam/Valve, Google, Apple etc... You can't make a push for digital and then simply say all your purchases will be useless once the new hardware is out. If they're going to do that, they better have a way for us to sell these digital goods.

From what I've read since the announcement, the new chipset in the PS4 makes it impossible for their to be backwards compatibility impossible.

Would never happen, you are wanting Sony to introduce cost and unnecessary complexity to a system for the relatively low risk of theft.

Sony could, however, allow one to tie a system to your PSN account, then if it gets stolen you can mark the system as stolen and if it ever connects back to the PSN, even after a format, the system would brick itself. Then again, you could imagine the forum posts if people started hacking individual PSN accounts like they were doing Live accounts just to break systems for puerile pleasure.

Personally I'd rather them just not worry about theft and you simply change your PSN password if the system ever gets stolen.

You still own it, the PS4 simply won't play it.

This would be nice, the MAC addresses should be tied to your PSN account and from their you should be able to do things like ssh or RDP into your PS4, access your file system, shut your console off, make it scream, and even put a password on bootup.

How long did that guy practice that path through that stage of the game? For a while there I thought he was pantomiming playing a video feed until he let the two worst gamers on TV have a turn.

Yes, but where would I play these games if I don't have a PS3 anymore? I can live without disc-based backward compatibility, but we're talking digital here. I expect to be able to play the games I bought digitally, no matter the hardware.

Well, looks like it was rigged for immediate health regeneration and they couldn't die, so who knows how good he truly was, you know?

That's the first I saw of KillZone, though. Not that it's not impressive, but I wasn't losing my mind over it.

those are some pretty ridiculous expectations. Why would you expect to use software designed for one device on a completely different device? Makes no sense.

Re: Keeping your PS3 to play the games you already own.
This works out perfectly for me. We're finally finishing up our room and my wife just recently hinted at getting a third PS3 to put in there. Not for gaming really but for Blu ray, Netflix, Amazon Instant, MLB TV, etc...

I told her we need to hold off until next March and just get a PS4 for the living room and put that PS3 out in our new room. (either way though I still have a PS3 in our bedroom I use and can play.) But, her response? "Oh ok, I guess we can hold off until then."
                            I'M IN THE CLEAR, BOYS!!
