The rumors are that with the two models, one will be $449ish and one will be $549ish.

Not sure why people would be surprised.. it's no different then when the PS3 came out.

Do you have a link for these rumors? I've seen $399 and $449 around the interwebz, but never $549. Sony Worldwide President Shuhei Yoshida has stated that the new Playstation will be priced "to compete with other consoles". A $549 price tag complete negates what Yoshida told the media, so I'm saying the $549 price tag is bogus.

Now, if you show me some proof from a legitimate source, I will retract my comments and say that you were correct.

Am I the only person concerned about security, what if your PS4 gets stolen, and all your games and other files are on your system. what security features so you want. I want the ability to locate and take control of my device remotely from a web interface or app.

But they still can access your local files, they can possibly format your hard drive and start their own account. Sure your games will be on your PS account but you would be out of a roughly $400-$600 system.

if you are worried about your system getting stolen before you even get it I think it may be time to move, or keep new company.

I don't think you will be able download what you already own unless its available for download and you buy it again. Basically you will be starting from scratch with your games.

Correct - you can presumably download from the catalog but you won't be able to say "I already have this" and be able to download from their cloud for free by putting a PS3 game into your PS4. It will probably be a monthly subscription fee much like Netflix.

From what I've read since the announcement, the new chipset in the PS4 makes it impossible for their to be backwards compatibility impossible.

If true it would be almost no different but one would hope that they would have learned from last time......lots of people balked at the $599 price (myself included) and waited for a few years for the price to come down.

Yeah, but if someone steals my Note 2 or iPod Touch I can track it down with GPS via web interface. I want to be able to do that on my PS4 also.

Yes...but those are mobile devices and have GPS in them for that reason.
You'd look pretty silly walking around N.Y.C. toting your PS4 and 50 inch plasma to find 42nd and Broadway!

I think what he means is have a gps chip installed so that if someone broke in and stole it you could go to your computer and track where it is. I know nothing about how the console is made, so maybe this isn't feasible. Also a burglar with some knowledge could just take out the chip after they steal it.
