The color is nothing more than to indicate which user you are. In some games player 1 is red, in others its blue. If you have a a few controllers turn them all on and each will have a different color depending on the game. Makes identifying who you are easier. Or so they say.

Actually some games have it linked up to your health. Kind of letting you know you are one step away from the body bag when it flashes red!

I think it varies depending on the games you play. For example, I was playing Killzone (single player campaign) and my light on my DS4 was green, but when I was dying or got killed, it turned red. Also, in NFS Rivals, when I choose racer, i think my light is Red and when I choose cop it is blue. Not sure about all this but my observations.

Seems like its Red in EA games. Playing that nba live demo yesterday it was red but thats it out of the games ive played so far

Played Killzone for the first time last night. The gun play is still awesome, and the visuals are incredible. I haven't played campaign yet, but I'm going in thinking it won't be all that great. So far, out of the games I've played I'd rank them:

1. NBA 2K
2. Battlefield 4
3. Madden
4. Resogun
5. FIFA
6. Blacklight
7. DC Universe

I would say yes. It looks and plays great. I haven't got that far into it yet but it's on the agenda.

Do it! It gets really fun when you are playing with a squad of people. Really can reward us that plan on playing lots with OS'ers.

1. Resogun. Addictive, fun, simple. I will be playing this for a long time.
2. Battlefield. Overall, this will be #1 once everything gets working properly. So much fun.
3. Sound Shapes. I am a huge music fan. This is a really fun game. The Beck levels were pretty awesome.
4. NBA 2k14. This will move up when I get used to the controls, have not gotten an NBA game in a LONG time. It is just amazing good looking.
5. Killzone. Honestly have not played it much at all. Speed and "weight" of characters is much different than other games I play. Will take some getting used to.
6. Flower. Beautiful. Just have not had time to play it more than a few minutes.

I posted some "tips for bad players, like me" in the thread in Non-Sports Gaming. I think you can get better with practice, and BF4 is not all about KD Ratio. Read my post and see what you think. I'd be interested in your feedback once you start playing.

1. NBA 2k14 - I'm looking forward to starting MyGM later this week, but out of the box the game just plays so damn good. The presentation is amazing and as life-like as ever. The graphics? My Lord. MyCareer is flashy, but pretty enjoyable. I like the cinematic storyline that runs throughout. Blacktop mode is intriguing, but I haven't jumped into it yet.

2. Resogun - Seriously. This game is gonna be addicting. Its beautiful to look at especially when that Overdrive is cranking and everything on the screen is popping. Simple, but fun as hell whether its for 15 minutes or 2 hours.

3. Contrast - I really enjoyed this game. Its a little on the short side, but its a clever and stylish puzzle-platformer with an interesting back-story. I would like to see the back-story fleshed out more as it was a lot more intriguing than the main storyline (which was pretty bizarre and heavy-handed at times). I hope they add-on to this game in the future.

4. BF4 - Until servers/bugs get fixed I'll consider it broken.


I haven't really played enough of AC4 to rank it, but its my #2 disc-based game so far.

I never even notice my controller in game. That seems like a good way to waste battery life.

So, this question is TOTALLY for a friend and DEFINITELY not for myself, but...

Is there anywhere (online or brick-and-mortar) I can pick up a PS4 now, or has everywhere been cleaned out until a second post-Black Friday shipment?
