Interesting, so the higher your stress level/heart rate it can make aiming more difficult in shooters for example? Same works for sports game.... pitching in The Show, free throws in basketball... etc.

Mike, the Vita and PS3 integration on LBP is really cool on how you use the Vita screen. The Vita is used as a regular controller, but then you also use the screen for certain functionality. There isn't much lag either, so if used right, this can be cool. I love the DS controller, minus the cheap build of it, considering that buttons after sometime tend to stick, and the d-pad can get loose I don't mind a change if it works like what we are seeing with the Vita.

Since this is the year where they will cut production costs on it, if they packaged the cheaper redesigned Vita with each single Oribis allowing it to be multi function with the Oribis games but then you can also play Vita games on it they have hit 2 markets right there. You have a handheld and a console controller. Since it all works with bluetooth allowing people to also use their DS3's would go a long way. Everyone now will also have access to Sony's handheld that have bought the Oribis, so selling software and memory is where they will make their money.
My only issue with that is the fundamental lack of functionality with the Vita compared to the Dualshock (comfort, L3/R3, L2/R2). Maybe redesign the Vita on the outside, make it bulkier and no longer portable, adding in the extra functionality/comfort. Or how about an official controller grip, there is an accessory port on the Vita so you make a frame to snap on that has the triggers and better ergonomics, you would still lose the clicky sticks but with the touchscreen that would be less of a hassle.

          Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

I guess my question is the same 'problem' the Wii U has... how many of these will you need, and you can't do away with DS due to local multiplayer games, unless they don't expect to have them anymore outside of motion/instrument-based titles.

Hard to see the DS going away, perhaps just replaced as the primary controller. If you don't bundle one with every console sold then you fragment developers and have PS4s without this newer controller.

Agree with the bracket for the Vita to make it work in the same fashion/function, no clicky thumbsticks as you mentioned could derail that completely though. Maybe a Vita revision will add them, though that's pretty harsh for early adopters.

Either way, all comes down to implementation and games support.

Eurogamer presents hard data on the Oribis

We also have hard data on Orbis's memory set-up. It features 4GB of GDDR5 - the ultra-fast RAM that typically ships with the latest PC graphics cards - with 512MB reserved for the operating system. This is in stark contrast to the much slower DDR3 that Durango will almost certainly ship with. Microsoft looks set to be using an offshoot of eDRAM technology connected to the graphics core to offset the bandwidth issues the use of DDR3 incurs. Volume of RAM is the key element in Durango's favour - there'll be 8GB in total, with a significant amount (two sources we've spoken to suggest 3GB in total) reserved for the OS.

Does anybody think its bad that I just bought a new PS3 even though PS4 is coming out this fall? I feel kinda weird about it, but I gotta play the Show.

And yes I did have a PS3 at one point but had to sell it.

I am so on the fence with the PS4 and the 720.

No one says you have to buy a PS4 or 720 the day they are released. Why not wait a year before making the move? I didn't get a PS3 until mid-2010 so I am in no rush to buy a PS4. I'll be waiting for the PS4 Slim (or whatever they will call the newer model when it inevitably is released) before moving on from the PS3.

                  Fixed for you. LOL!

No man, I wouldn't feel weird about it. You don't have to rush out and buy a PS4 or XBX8/720 on day one. I think there is still some decent games to be played on this gen of consoles. I am going to try very hard to wait several months after both release before buying one. I had the will power with the Wii U, so I can do it with these too (I hope).

I'm doing the same thing... I got a Super Slim PS3 October 2012, so I'm gonna be waiting awhile to get a PS4.

Shhh, no one is supposed to know that lol.

But seriously I'm not sure I will be able to resist the temptation. I always have to have the latest and greatest. Especially if the next gen sports games are good. That's why I feel guilty because I pretty much know I will buy a new system day one.

I think there would be no way to hold back if Madden turns out to be awesome.

Maybe they will have a good trade deal towards the new system or something.

You're not quite on FF's level, but gaining ground

I hear you with the temptation. I'm usually that way with games but typically I do wait a year to buy consoles; I did with the PS1, PS2, 360 and waited 4 years before getting a PS3.

The sports games are going to be the selling point for me. I know MLB The Show will be on point, and likely NBA 2K, but the big ones are Madden and NCAA. If they can get back to the level of quality they had during the Xbox/PS2-era, I'll be on board sooner than later.

PS4 on release depends on how much, how easy it is to get one, and what games are there for launch.

Hopefully, they will switch back to dual shock like they switched from that God-awful boomerang controller before the PS3 launch.

The PS4 needs to at least support DS3.
