Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
The PS2 is my favorite console of all-time. In the middle of that consoles life cycle if you would have told me that I wasn't going to ever by a PS3, I would have thought you were crazy, but that's what happened. It was all about the games, especially early in the life cycle of the console.
The PS2 had at least 50 exclusive RPGs, Does the PS3 even have more than 10? Even if they do, only a few of those have been well received.
Great series like, Suikoden, Shadow Hearts, Grandia, Wild Arms, Xenosaga, Dark Cloud and others never made an appearance. I know that things happen to publishers and developers that cause series to disappear, but other games didn't step in to fill the void in that genre.
From what we've seen so far, the specs of the PS4 seem strong, I just hope that they come back strong in the RPG market.
Next gen sports games have been ported, regurgitations of last gen titles with very minimal game development over the years (excluding The Show of course).
It's been bunch of bells and whistles. More game marketing than game development.
Until Devs can push the limits of system capabilities, sports games will always lag behind.
A game like Far Cry 3 (which I felt was the game of the year) would be just over-the-top sensational on the PS4.
The sports Devs really need to impress me in the 2014 cycle because RPGs/FPSs have really shown that they are more worth the penny that I have to shell out for a system that is so powerful.Comment

Kevin Van Ord at Gamespot has an interesting take on "Deep Down." Sounds familar to Dragon's Dogma, he believes it could be a sequel to the game. Makes sense because it is developed by Capcom.

Come on, Sky. You know good and well you'll have a PS4 on day one regardless of price. If you forked over $350+ for the Wii U, I know you'll go to $500+ for the PS4. I also can't imagine you passing up The Show '14 on PS4 lol.Originally posted by J. ColeFool me one time that's shame on you. Fool me twice can't put the blame on you. Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I will eventually get both systems at a much later date....most of the games will be released on the PC as well so I'm in no rush to get the next system and as for the exclusive games like killzone...meh...I can wait...
Now if they mentioned God of War as one of the games being released on PS4 then I will most definitely get the system for that game alone but for now nothing interest me....Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I got the WiiU for Nintendo games so I pretty much only had 1 choice of system for that lol
I really would love to see some real advancements AI wise.
Example: Madden - not just the same OL/DL tug of war with better graphics.
I just know I am going 1 system only and whichever I feel gives me the better future I'll go with. To early to tell anything at this point. I need to see more than 1 game and a tech demo for the PS4 and we haven't seen anything yet from MS.
E3 should be fun...
The PS4 seems to be going in right direction but all the social gaming I could care less about. I just want a fun gaming system that delivers true next gen products. Can't wait to see more games in action!
Of course once prices start dropping both "could" be in the future. Just not both at launch.Last edited by Skyboxer; 02-23-2013, 01:15 PM.Joshua:

That's not too bad. That's one year after release. I can do that if the price isn't fitting and I can have a whole year of PS3 games to play.
Not to mention that any of the big releases for the PS4 would have seen a price cut by then and I'm really okay with it.
I'm getting a PS4. That's final. But when I get it will depend on price (I can't firmly say what that price is bc some days $500 sounds reasonable, other days it sounds ridiculous), the titles available, and how much usage I have left in my PS3 vs how soon I can simply use Gaikai to play the PS3 games I still want to play on my PS4.
I also think GTAV is gonna be a huge factor for me. I don't know how quickly I complete a game like that. I'm not gonna get rid of my PS3 till I do. And it's an absolute that I sell my PS3 toward a purchase of a 4.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Yeah I dumped my PS3 and about to dump the 360 before the extra 50.00 trade in stops. It's a launch 360 so selling it I doubt will get me much. If the PS4 or 720 was BC it wouldn't be an issue but since they aren't I doubt I buy any more games until the new systems come out. Only exception may be Tiger Woods.Joshua:

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Guess I may not dump it. Probably for the best. Sort of attached to it since I've had it since launch...lol
The attic is in it's future..
Just checked and the newer models of PS3 trade in for 150.00 right now.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I still have the original PS3 "fattie", which is backward compatible.
Any word on the PS4 also being BC? I have too many games to just up and get rid of the ps3 altogether...Comment
